pay most of his salary and get a spect or two that are ehh. Im sure some cub fans think "thed hoyerstein, team theo, the theo admin, (insert lame theoism here)" will get a ton of top prospects back for him.

Hell no.

The Sox don't need to be like the Bears and take other teams' trash.

We have a DH already (well, sorta kinda maybe).

according to rizzo of the Nats Dunn came into the sox way out of shape from when he was watching video of him. maybe that was the problem.... :dunno:

either way it is a low risk high reward, and you stick him in LF or you move Dunn to the outfield so he plays everyday and DH soriano.

You're probably right about the risk, but boy we'd have to do some major praying a ball never reaches the outfield since we have a loafer and a guy who is still learning the position who will most likely be out there alongside Soriano.

Winning our division isn't enough. I'd rather have kids okay and a better draft spot. We are only better than the NL Central and possibly the NL West.

The Tigers are the real deal though

Their offense is very nice and they played extra solid behind V last two months of the season. I have them as an upper echelon team. I'll agree to disagree

Outside Verlander, no one in that rotation scares me.

their offense is really good(4th in the AL behind NY,Bos,and Tex) they had two pitchers with close to 15 wins because they had great run support....

brad penny was awful..one of the worst pitchers in the league last year

porcello is pretty meh

scherzer is ok..but his BABIP was awful...as well as porcello's and penny's

overall, detroit was slightly below average in most pitching statistical categories..but that has a bit do with verlander.....if you could compare pitching among the league without their aces....i bet detroit would be at the bottom

despite some of their pitching stats...they have a good W-L ratio..partly because they have a good closer but partly as i said they had one of the best offenses last year

so is detroit the real deal? idk...alot of unpredictability in baseball...a lot could happen..people get injured....

wouldnt surprise me to see the tigers slump next season because of their pitching underperforming(meaning verlander isnt quite as dominant as an ace) but their offense is good enough if they are all healthy...they will be a pretty good team

Did ya make this thread just to bash Cubs fans? For over-rating their player (something every fan of every team does)?

Thread's dumb, anyway. Soriano's got a NTC. He's only going to accept a deal to a team w/ a chance to win. Currently, that's definitely not the White Sox.

And save me the "Sox have a better chance than the Cubs" garbage. It's debatable to begin with, and it's a moot point. Soriano's already on the Cubs. We're trying to get rid of him. If you wanna take him, send us back an auto'd Frank Thomas bat and we'll call it a good deal.
