Outside of Verlander, the Tigers rotation is really meh.

I like Scherzer. Though VMart is out for the year, so that's a plus for the rest of the AL Central.

Did ya make this thread just to bash Cubs fans? For over-rating their player (something every fan of every team does)?

Calm down, X. At least he put the thread here. I mean, there's never any Sox chirps in the Cubs's forum, right?

Thread's dumb, anyway. Soriano's got a NTC. He's only going to accept a deal to a team w/ a chance to win. Currently, that's definitely not the White Sox.

That's not exactly correct:

There is a full no-trade clause in his contract, but Soriano told ESPNChicago.com two months ago that if the Cubs approached him about a trade, he most likely would agree to one. He reaffirmed that recently to multiple outlets.

And save me the "Sox have a better chance than the Cubs" garbage. It's debatable to begin with, and it's a moot point. Soriano's already on the Cubs. We're trying to get rid of him. If you wanna take him, send us back an auto'd Frank Thomas bat and we'll call it a good deal.

It's probably going to be a miserable summer here in town in terms of baseball. It's not the first; it won't be the last.

I don't think Sori would accept a trade to the White Sox...He'd still be heckled every game and he knows it.

All that being said, my apologies, Dews. Damn man-period. I overreacted.

I dont see how Soriano would improve the Sox

At this point, I'd use him only as a DH, but the Sox have a platoon of Paulie/Dunn so that's out the window. His defense is so bad and with Rios already in CF, the Sox don't need another liability in LF.

I disagree. The division is putrid. the fuckin royals could win this division.

I would be shocked if the Tigers don't win the division they are almost a lock IMO and it would surprise me if they didnt win it by more than 10 games.

pay most of his salary and get a spect or two that are ehh. Im sure some cub fans think "thed hoyerstein, team theo, the theo admin, (insert lame theoism here)" will get a ton of top prospects back for him.

What the hell are you talking about? We'd be grateful to just have him gone.

He was referring to Captain Obvious always looking out for the Cubs best possibilities.

I think the Central divisions are both winnable for any teams...but think the Tigers and Reds will be the favorites.

Doug Fister is a pretty good pitcher as well.

He did extremely well last year going 8-1 with Detroit and a 1.79 ERA. But 7 of his starts were against CLE, KC, MIN. I don't know if he can maintain that. Especially since in his first two years he had a 4.12 ERA with a 4.40 xERA. And, even though he finished the season with a 2.83 ERA, his xERA was 3.45. That drastic of a difference indicates an impending decline in 2012.

We'll see what happens, though.

I honestly hope that Paulie plays 80% of the games at 1B. I don't want Dunn anywhere near a glove. Gloves should run and hid when Swamp Donkey approaches.
