Please, Stan....no more acquisitions. Please. We have all seen what you can do and frankly, its an embarrassment to this franchise. You were handed a world class team and have managed to turn it into a lackluster group of heartless underachievers.

This line from the above article says it all.....

"What I do know is that he won a Stanley Cup with Dale Tallon’s team while struggling to even make the playoffs with his own version."

That quote is ridiculous and completely inaccurate.

Yes he won with Tallon's team...but Tallon backed Bowman into a wall and he had to trade all those guys to make his "own" version. He had no choice. Tallon and the Cap forced his hand there.

Also...I think Bowman has done pretty well in trades. I'm a fan of the Skill for Frolik/Salak and a big fan of the Barker for Leddy/Johnsson. The Buff/Versteeg/Ladd/Etc are hard to grade but I was fine with them because it had to happen. I also am fine with the Campbell one because that cap hit was a killer.

Anyone have any idea what the crazy trade rumor they wont even mention on 670? Kinda just curious to know...I don't think they're going to make any significant moves

I give bowman credit for bringing in mayers, signing stalberg and extending sharp.

the rest of the shit he did last summer... yuck. moving campbell? good... doing nothing to replace him makes it a wash in my eyes. cap space is utterly worthless if you don't use it.

Funny how the same people that hated Soupy, want him back.

Not aiming this at you, just what i've been reading on other sites.

the problem is he thought leddy was going to be his replacement, and brought in a bunch of has been defenseman. he has done nothing since has been here. the cam barker deal was like 20 years ago.

People saw his salary and were screaming for him to be moved on that alone.

It's not like Campbell demanded that big of a salary, he was just the only offensive-defenseman available during that FA period and he was in very, very high demand. Hawks had to throw a ton of money to get him in town, and he was badly, badly needed.

He was never going to live up to that money. But he was a real, real good player in Chicago while he was here. Probably the most consistent player last season.

seeing as how he's exactly what the hawks are missing, its not surprising.

hindsight is perfect and you have to make that trade but not replacing him inexcusable. they didn't actually think montador could fill his skates, did they?

Or 2 years ago. The Cam Barker trade was a great trade, Barker is a terrible dman.

Monty was gonna be on the third pairing, with Leddy jumping up to the 2nd spot and replacing Campbell. As many have said, Leddy's going to be real good in a few more years, but he's just overwhelmed right now. And I don't think Monty's going to jump into the 2nd D-pairing when/if he gets back. That's not his game.

Seabrook at least seems like he's helping out Leddy since he's been paired with him lately. Seabrook can make up for the mistakes that Leddy mistakes ... but he still gets caught with his head down at times. Just ask Ryan Getzlaf.

I was being sarcastic on the years, im sure you knew that.

And that is the only deal he has made that was good. everything else is tire patching.

I'll say that his UFA signings haven't been good.

His trades have been pretty solid in my eyes. Once again, he HAD to trade some combo of Buff/Ladd/Versteeg/Etc/Etc and I'm fine with the return that he got from those trades. The other trades where he could actually make a trade without having to, have been pretty good.
