Dont get this at all for KCR. Cubs could have gave them 2 soft tossing LHP that would have cost League Min for basically nothing. Vargas pitched in HUGE ball parks and still has over 4 ERA in career. Deals like this make me wish i was LH

Cardinals got their starting center fielder and a pretty decent outfield prospect.

Pretty easy to tell who won that deal.

as far as "roles" the cards won by filling the CF void but I still think freese is the overall better player.

Bourjos is solid defensively but can't hit a lick.

Huge upgrade. Bourjos just needs to play. Didn't get to in the Angels outfield. Jay is a slap singles hitter and is deceptively slow. Bourjos has the speed we need and is great defensively. Plus, Jay has the arm of a 70 year old woman. Bourjos has a great arm.

As for the Peralta potential signing- Hallelujah. It's like an early Christmas. We get a SS and a CF without having to trade any of our young pitching talent. Awesome.

Well HJ, since you see the Red Birds more than most of us, hard to argue.

Just from the games i've seen of Bourjos, all I see is a guy who can play defense & can't really hit.

But, that's just my two cents.
