“I’ll keep my options open. At this point in my career, if I’m going to be a backup, I’m going to be a backup on a championship-caliber team. Obviously, this team is a good team that’s going to get to the playoffs, but the thing is if they are committed to getting to that next level to compete for that championship. This team does have guys that can compete and can get out of the first round. It’s just whether I can swallow my pride and deal with being a backup point guard. I have no problem with it, but at the same time I definitely still see myself as a starter in this league.”

Solid player. Not the right fit, but maybe he can help diversify our play options.

He didnt like his role with the nuggets because he felt he didnt get enoght PT(he played almost 30 mpg) I doubt he is willing to play with the Bulls and get even less PT when Drose is back.

Why is he NOT the right fit?

serious question which offense isnt Andre Miller a great fit in?? The dude is one of the smartest pgs with elite court vision and can play SG if need be (even though he doesn't like it). He is great pushing the ball and he is great in the half court and in a motion offense(which is what the Bulls use) He moves well without the ball and moves the ball well which is the key to playing in a motion offense.

Andre Miller would be an awesome fit. He's an extremely durable (he's missed SIX games in his entire career!), smart, diverse player with a veteran presence. I'd imagine that if he came to the Bulls, he'd have an understanding that once Rose is healthy, his playing time would be limited. I'd love his addition to the team.

Maybe they package Watson in a trade for a 2nd scoring option and thn sgn Miller to be a back-up. I know teams have wanted Watson in a trade. Just wishfull thinking, though.

No, not just watson. A package with him included. Teams did want Watson in a package, but don't know for what player.

Andre Miller is a great fit. He'd be starting for half the season and with Rose not guaranteed to be 100% anyway once he comes back, I doubt (read hope) that Thibs goes out and plays him 40 minutes right away. He'd have a huge role on this team for next year and we are a playoff team...and championship caliber team (supposedly) so that fits his desires too. I'd gladly take him. He can't shoot 3s at all, but he's still a super smart player, great passer, good defender, and an all around solid player.

I believe what he said was clear.

"if I’m going to be a backup, I’m going to be a backup on a championship-caliber team"

The guy isn't happy he was a backup there because he believes that he can play as a starter in the league. BUT if he has to be a backup he wants to be a backup on a championship caliber team. I believe that he won't have a problem being the backup of DRose. He can be a starter in Miami though. lol

He can be a starter in Miami though. lol

Not lol. This is the thing. Everyone that we're looking at to replace Rose for half the season, the Heat can take and offer a starting gig for a full season playing alongside the big 3. It's a PGs dream, you have 3 huge scoring options to pass to and there's absolutely no pressure on yourself to score because you're the 4th option. This is why Miami getting Nash is a huge possibility and something that we really need to consider. While Rose might be able to dominate whoever it is they get individually, having a great passer like that just makes their offense that much more dangerous. They'd then have 3 playmakers in their starting lineup. We still only have 1.
