Honestly getting a 5th round pick for Miller and a 7th was about the best they could have hoped for at this point. And there is a big difference in your chance of finding NFL depth in the 5th round vs the 7th round.

That's true, but it would be nice to have a GM who isn't always giving draft choices away to move up for a failed player.

Should be a high fifth at that

He always was a fairly raw prospect with potential for maturity issues. We saw that play out when he got diva-level frustrated at the poor throws when he was legit open. Unfort. Miller was also inconsistent with his routes and was NOT on the good side of Mike Furrey who said something like "...outside of 2 guys, it was the worst/dumbest WR room he's ever coached" (ARob & Mooney).

^ That alone is worth shipping him out. I even have a Miller jersey. ?‍♂️

RE the draft - EVERY team has misses. Esp. when shooting for raw talent. CCS gonna cunt every. single. miss though.

Sadly, Bears coaches couldn't reach him, teach him, nor could/would Nagy hold him accountable or in line with immaturity. Hell, we've even seen ARob give up on routes & blocks. Hopefully good QB play for once will help with that separate of Nagy's misgivings.

Maybe we see them try out:

1) these others in the slot early on
2) more 2 TE sets which Nagy loves
3) more Cohen in the slot later one once healthy
4) bring in another scrub/filler til next off-season
*5) UDFA camp crush WR of the summer ~ '21 edition ?

But remember Pace traded up with New England to draft Miller inn the second round and gave up a 4th rounder and a 2nd the following year. What a disaster. Typical of Pace's incompetence and mismanagement of draft capital.
He used a 4th and future 2nd to move up and draft Miller. He did not use one pick and trade away two more.

Can Pace now trade that 5th rounder back to the Texans for Randall Cobb? So that he doesn’t go to the Packers and Rodgers won’t come back.

Cobb is fucking trash. End of story

Edit: didn't sense the sarcasm

All things considered, not the worst return. Figure an early-mid 5th for a 7th and a guy at a position rapidly declining in value who's been all potential and hype that just never came to be on top of a few dipshit moments like the move with CJGJ when he was told not to go after him or forgetting how to catch a pass that hits him in the hands.

Another in a list of bad Pace trade ups.

Will Pace now trade that 5th and Foles to the Jets for their 7th?

If they could manage to throw some money in and get a 6th from the Jets for foles that'd be dope, but I'm doubting any chance of that. But if they could then I'd trade their own 5th and 6th to move up into the 4th. Then you'd have 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Houston 5th which is likely the 1st pick of the round, and Jets 6th which would be high in that round. Not bad for the little that we started with.

Again that's wishful thinking

He took a chance. It didn't work out. Maybe a better coach can find a way to make Miller work, where Nagy failed?

Sounds like the Jets want Foles, but not at his price. I think the only way the Bears get hi traded, is to also eat most of his salary.
