Right now I'm using Sony MDR V6's because they sound better with my headphone amp than the 900HDs. I wear cans every day for hours and hours. So anything under $150 that lasts for at least a year is important to me. The 900HDs are duct taped together and work great still, but the duct-tape adds weight and makes them less comfortable. I paid $60 new for MDR v6 digitals, and if you are using a primary analog output the 7506s are also hard to beat. Bare in mind, I wouldn't suggest either to someone as direct to computer(ampless) headphones now(maybe a year ago when 7506s were $70-80 and the next best thing was $120).

Most of my use is at work, so straight out of computer sans amp.

I used to have a sponsorship with Audio Technica, for what I paid, they sound great. But I would never suggest a high-end AT headphone for anything near the full price. Actually, there aren't too many AT products I would recommend period. For everything they make in the high end, someone makes something better for the same price or less. 10 years ago, this was a very different story.

I love the amp. Very powerful. Got to be careful not to do serious damage to your ears. On/off clicking knob. Whole unit is solid and feels like quality. No hum even when charging. Can be used while charging. Unit has very good bass but with the bass gain switch more than I would want. Comes with rubber bands to attach to phone. Case is tight fighting cloth, not very nice.

Overall clean and powerful enough to drive any headphone

Never used it. But the board layout looks pretty laughable. The components look like they're super cheap too, so add a little dust/humidity to that recipe, and you wind up with extra fuzzy sound. Two channel split IC for solid state amplification, and a tube for looks? I don't even see what the tube is doing here. Without knowing more, I would say stay away from this thing, as it looks like it will just blow your headphone drivers. Some refer to this stuff as loudness junk.

Sound stage is pretty impressive, especially for what I paid for them. Got a feeling would be even better with a decent amp. Kind of surprised how much noise gets out of them but they are open...so I guess it's kind of to be expected. Really no complaints about the suspension, I think they are pretty comfortable (but again, bald already). Haven't had them on for super long sessions yet though. So far, would buy again.
