Any of you Hunt?

Urblock last week i was cleaning, cutting up a cows chamber ( reticulum ) for dog food. I had the dog in the house because i had the chickens out and he likes to chase them. Anyways a bear must have got wind of the scent , i didnt see it but i could hear it, ( jaws )

Tater you like Ruffed Grouse ? I've had 2 of them in the past week fly into my house and garage. I think me and the dog startled one in the front yard when we came from around the house, flew into window in front knocking off the screen. The other one must have flew into the back garage. I wouldnt have ate the one i found by the garage, but the one i seen fly, well the dog liked him .

I never tried them. I did hunt them once many years ago, forgot about that until you mentioned grouse. I never got one but I hear they are great to eat. They fly VERY fast, tough shot when they are swooping through pine trees.

I never liked hunting. Dad took me a lot when I was younger but I never really wanted to shoot anything.

Love to fish though, but I don't eat seafood and catch and release unless with someone that will eat them.

A lot of times hunting is necessary to keep populations down. Goes for all kinds of animals (Not Big Game). Say here in Virginia the deer are out of control so the hunting is necessary. They attract Coyotes and those need to be population controlled as well. Beavers.... the list could go on.

Some of these people just want to kill something, which to me is wrong. Kill it and keep it/give it away if it's an animal people enjoy. Not everyone wants your coyote and beaver meat... Right person would take the pelts though.

People knock on him, but he keeps many populations in check.

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls 911. He gasps, "My friend is dead! I have elk meat in the freezer currently.

From two different elk. I didn't hunt it but was the recipient of two other hunters bounties. Elk meat is the best.

only get one a year to eat on. and then i thank it, native American style for nourishing my family ..hunting deer helps control population where i live.
