Anyone else just tired of this franchise?

I've been a fan since 2010. There are some real old timers here, so 14 years doesn't seem that long; especially if you're lucky enough to remember the Bears winning their last super bowl.

But within that 14 years I've witnessed some truly horrific, traumatizing tragedies from this franchise that have left me scarred beyond all redemption. It' been so bad I don't even call myself a Bears fan anymore. It's gotten to the point where I follow maybe the first 3 or 4 games of every season before I judge the team and decide whether I want to watch the rest of the season's games. Spoiler: 99% of the time I choose not to watch any more games.

Some might call me a fair weather fan, and that's fine. Maybe I just don't like football that much. Maybe I don't even know what real football is, having followed the Bears for my entire fandom. Can what they do even be described as professional football? I've seen the pendulum of pessimism and optimism swing every few years. It's nauseating. I'm beyond nihilistic at this point. I can't muster an ounce of optimism anymore. In the past 14 years we've gone from:

Firing Jerry Angelo, firing Lovie Smith,
Hiring Phil Emery, hiring John Trestman,
Firing Phil Emery, firing John Trestman,
Hiring Ryan Pace, hiring Matt Nagy,
Firing Ryan Pace, firing Matt Nagy,
Hiring Ryan Poles, hiring Matt Eberflus
etc. Bro, enough already. I know how this story goes. I can't imagine how anyone has the inclination or motivation, at this point, to even become invested in the next hire.

The infamous Bears QB carousel is even more depressing. I'll spare you the details because you all know. Does anyone have any hope that Caleb Williams is going to become a successful franchise QB here? If you actually do, please pass me whatever hopium you're huffing.

This franchise is a waste of time. Following the team is a waste of time. I know the inevitable response to this will be "ok, well then go away. why are you posting. Nobody likes you. This thread sucks. Kill yourself." And I'm fine with that. Maybe you're right. But I really don't post here very often anymore and the only reason I do is for catharsis, like just to point to this train wreck we call The Bears and to be like...what the **** ya'll. You all are seeing this too, right? Just what the **** are we even witnessing. You couldn't be this tragic if you tried.

This thread has no point. Except to say, **** you Chicago Bears. **** you for killing my fandom. You suck. You will always suck. I've come to terms with that reality. One thing I've learned for sure: you will never go broke betting against the Chicago Bears. Regardless of what hires or fires they make, regardless of what trades they make, regardless of who they draft...every season, bet against the Bears and you will make money.

Fandom peaks when you stop caring and embrace the hilarity of their incompetence.

The drafting of Caleb Williams cemented the Bears being an unserious organization. Join me on NewEnglandCitySports.net where we will usher in the new era of Patriots dominance with Drake Maye and Hunter Henry.

If you're looking for a silver lining, Caleb's on pace to have a 3,700 yard, 20/5 season, which would be the best all around statistical season of any Bears quarterback, ever. As a rookie.

I think the kid is too good to fail, and it's the only thing that gives me hope about the future. We've been through this familiar feeling of incompetence before, but never with a real quarterback. Things can be different now if we could just find a coach who isn't among the worst in NFL history.

Between the QB and overall roster in general, cap situation, and draft capital, this isn’t your typical “no hope” Bears.

This is a pivotal moment though in which they HAVE TO nail the HC hire which they’ve never done. I mean, really…a league average HC would be a huge upgrade so you’d think it’d be almost to completely botch it, but this is the Bears. We’ll see….its not doom and gloom by any stretch but also very skeptical they hit a home run with the HC hire.

I completely agree. This next HC hire is the most important hire of the past 40 years. We have potentially a future top tier QB, which we've never had before. There is some talent on the roster, a ton of cap space and lots of draft capital. We need to find the Bears' Phil Jackson with our next coach. This is a pivotal moment.

This is literally unreadable. As a Bears fan, and a fan of literacy, I implore you to get help.

No, but I am tired of whining fans, thank god for the ignore feature.
Not a whining fan here............just a pissed off one. Bears in 2024 had enough talent to compete for the playoffs and pissed it away with an HC who should have been fired last year.

Thank God 2025 should give Bear fans something to root for.
