Seriously. This concerns me. Not because you don't have an obvious abundance of smarts that would be valuable to impart on others because you do. But you know, all those other pesky ummm. . ."intangible" personality traits. God speed to those students.
Its basically part of peoples interview process to get a job with my company(the final step). its basically a 1 month course to reinforce what they have learned in their edumacation(which they dont have to be computer science majors, I wasnt, In fact they like that more if somebody can grasp something they never learned that quickly, as in this field you always have to learn new things, quickly), which there are tests every day and shit, i went through the same class. The last week they will break up into groups and code a human resources application (its fairly simple, i could code the thing myself in like 2 hours, they get 4 days and 5 people per team), of which during that I can offer them no help I just kick me feet up and snooze at my desk.
On that last friday, each team will do a code review with me, then they will present their application to myself and a business analyst.
Then we give them a final rating which will be a combination of their technical score and their performance in the code review and presentation portion. Only like half of them are getting jobs, so then me that BA and an executive sit down and decide who gets hired and it can come down literally to if you have a good personality, over some nerd who is like a technical genius but has the people skills of a board.
So no i am not teaching children. Most of them will probably be in their early 20's. Some may be older if they got their college later in life.
