With the phone thing, I don't think I have a phobia, I just don't like talking on the phone period. I will if I have to, but that's it.
Especially if I get a call and I don't recognize the number, I'll just let it go to voicemail. I figure if it's important, they'll leave a message and I can call them back. Otherwise they obviously didn't want to talk to me that badly.
I remember back before caller ID was invented. Then I would just let my answering machine get it.
Calling house phones back then was always the worst. You never knew who was going to pick up the phone on the other end. Especially when there was more than one person in the house with the same name.
"Can I talk to Tom?"
"Which one?"
"Tom Jr."
I kinda get the same thing when going through the drive-thru. I never know how long to wait between saying things because the person on the other end can never seem to type in the order at a consistent speed.
"Give me a #1, a chicken sandwich and a 2 cheeseburgers."
"What did you want to drink with your #1?"
"Coke"
"What was the rest of your order?"
Or I'll get this:
"Give me a #1..."
"What to drink?"
"Coke"
"Is that all?"
"No. A chicken sandwich..."
"Is that all?"
"No, I'll tell you when I'm done!"
