Seriously considering it. I've gained way too much weight in the past few years, and though I re-lost close to half, I've had an extremely difficult time eating right and exercising consistently as I once did. I figured if I could do something to kickstart my eating habits I'd be able to make a run at it from there. So, anyone tried it? Does it help?

Nutrisystem is a very healthy and balanced diet but dont think that they are sending you all the food you will need for the month. Plan on spending at least 1.5 times the plan amount on fresh fruits, veggies and other things. Its a great blueprint to follow though if you are struggling to establish a healthy diet.

Does it work? Yes.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I just need something to kickstart me again and am hoping this will do it. Wish I would've never gotten out of rhythm. LOL.

If you have room for workout equipment that is where I would spend the money.

it works but gd its horrible

This.... the only thing I liked were some of the snack/desert bar things..... everything else I ate in the program made me wish I was eating something else.

Lol it got to the point where I was dreading meals and started cheating on the weekends because at some point I just wanted real food not out of a box/freezer.

Its a good program if you can do it right and stick to it, but it can be a trap if you don't do it right and stick to it.... they will just keep billing/shipping you food unless you delay it and they only let you delay so much and if you wanna cancel prepare to call and say no to at least 3 or 4 attempts to get you to stay on their program.

The other thing for me, I couldn't keep up with eating as often as they want you to eat.... its wake up, protein shake breakfast, later mid-morning snack, then lunch, then a mid afternoon snack, then dinner, and then an evening snack.... And on top of it each of those 6 "meals" requires you to provide part of it..... veggies, fruits, juice, etc.... Its alot to keep up with, at least for me with a busy work day where I barely manage lunch sometimes and a long commute in and out of the city everyday.

IMO it can certainly work, but for the price, the amount you have to put in to it yourself, and the quality of the food being that of average TV dinners/canned soups.... it wasn't worth it for me.

Lol at the end I ordered all the same stuff cause I only liked certain stuff.... same soups for lunch, same couple pasta dishes for dinner, same desert/snack bar things for snacks....

Obviously when you have been forced to eat banana slugs, worms, rabbit lungs and the like everything else tastes good so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I found the food to taste fine. Loved the red beans and rice. I took notes on the stuff I didnt like the first month and only ordered the ones I wanted the second month.

Was it like mommas cooking? Nope, but it was ok.

If you compare the sodium in their stuff to store bought stuff you will be amazed.

Weight loss is done in the kitchen my man. The exercise is there to supplement a healthy diet.

I'm only looking to do it for a month or so to get back my motivation. I've gotten to that point of fatness and laziness that it has become extremely difficult to keep a regimen. I figure if I lose 15-20 lbs it will help get my metabolism back in order lol.

As for eating 6 times per day, that's the best way to do it. When I was lean, I worked out everyday and ate something for energy every 2.5-3 hours, alternating main courses and snacks. I was killing that p90x. That's why it's been disappointing I let myself go so long, I was in damn good shape.

I don't know if you run, but running is like the easiest way to lose weight. I lost 20 lbs on accident running. I was just trying to get in shape and ended up going from 180 to 160. Nothing crazy either. Like 2-3 miles when I ran. 3-5 times a week.

Building lean muscle is the best wsy to lose weight honestly. Muscle will increase metabolism and burn fat even when sitting still. Most people concetrate on the wrong muscles, like biceps, which is why they don't burn weight as fast. Work out the core, back, & quads and you will shed the lbs.

As for the eating, I lost 15 lbs simply by giving up pop and switching to water. After a couple weeks, I didn't even miss it. I rarely drink pop anymore.

Crossfit.

I've heard good reviews but have yet to look into this. Think I may have to. I really want to get back into shape, I hate looking at myself in the mirror.

Been doing it for a year. I feel better, and look better than I ever have.

Positives:
Hour long workout
Always with a trainer
Groups
Can scale
Pretty good tracking software to keep up with what you do

Negatives:
Can be expensive
Initial intimidation
You can be susceptible to injury if you don't focus first on form/technique

Walk hard for 25 min. Lift for 25 min. Stop eating anything that looks good and you will drop weight.

As for the taste of nutrisystem - most often if it's good for you, it isn't going to taste great.
