When I was 21, I got a tattoo of a cobra on my cawk. By the time I turned 22, it got worn off.

I've always said that if I could think of something unique, truly meaningful and would still think was still cool when I turn 80, that I would get a tattoo. Still no tattoos at 37, so it's probably not happening. To each their own though.

Excepting head/neck tattoos and people that try to ink every square inch of their body.

Tatts look good on some people, but I'm not one of them. I'll admit I had the urge when I was younger, but Dad was always there to threaten my life if I walked in the house with a tattoo (or earring).

It wasn't until my dad's late 40's that he got a tattoo. Then he got another.

I have a tasteful southwestern style tat with personal meaning to me on my shoulder, had it for 20 years and have no desire to get another.

My brother got bitten by the tattoo bug and he looks like religious taggers assaulted him while he slept with no rhyme or reason to any of it... several in different styles.

The best of the best is a buddy of mine- between his shoulder blades he has a nude woman (dungeons and dragon style arm bands and boots i think) being eaten out by a demon.
Karma repaid him by giving him 2 daughters and 2 step daughters.... I have had them out on my boat several times and he never takes his shirt off, no matter how hot it gets.


Bottom line is, do whatever the hell you want- but it would be wise to envision yourself at a company picnic years down the road, or out with your kids at the beach, or as an old man... picture yourself with that tattoo and see if you can imagine explaining why you got it without looking like a fool.
