I think we just have this subclass of people in our society who simply dislike any show or movie that is too popular.

I fell into that trap a few times myself... notably after the first season of Game of Thrones I kept telling myself it sounded stupid.... then I watched it and loved it.

Idk why but there is some pseudo gag-reflex we get when too many people start going "OMG HAVE U SEEN BLAH? IT IS SOOOO GOOD"

There is this like auto-response counter culture that must exist for anything that is too popular.... you saw it on this board with the Blackhawks when they were winning Cups... you see it with people who go "I've never even watched Game of Thrones, it looks stupid".

If you are being contrary just because, that is where people get ironically annoyed with you.... if you watch a popular show and just don't like it... then to each their own.

PS: I felt this way about Breaking Bad when it aired... then I binge watched it once it completed and I still feel it is overrated.... it was a good show, but having watched the entire thing I will say I think it was overrated.

I always thought that most 2000s pop music sucked. Then someone told me to give it a chance and I only didn't like it because it was so popular. Then after hearing 101.9 for a few years, I found out it truly does suck. People have their heads up their asses.
