Anyone think it's odd that the Bears haven't had Jared Verse in for a top 30 visit yet but have had D.Turner, L.Latu and Chop Robinson in for top 30 visits?

I don’t know, but it is one step closer to having Latu picked, which is what I want if everyone is gone!

D.Mooney is a weapon. Just because Fields and Getsy didn't use him correctly doesn't mean he's now not a weapon. Not everyone has to share this opinion but it is mine.
What I said is that Mooney was not a weapon in 2023 because he and Fields were not on the same page. They were just off in 2023, Fields expecting Mooney to be elsewhere as the ball sailed far enough away for Mooney to make a play on the ball, over and over again.

If Mooney was not a weapon in 2023, it means that Fields only had 2 weapons in 2023. It doesn't mean anything if Mooney has the greatest WR season of all times in 2024. He was not a weapon in 2023 which is odd because Mooney had already made had a strong connection with Fields from before.

It's not the weapon's fault if it gets misused. Mooney was on the same page as the play sheet, had a lot of gap and seam routes and if you don't throw them or throw them on time...

So Poles offered Mooney $30m for 3 years before the season which was obviously low so Poles was not all in though obviously would have been happy keeping him. The other team that wanted him in FA was the Chiefs. Mooney went for the money.

You have my condolences. I hate ND with a passion and I am not even a college football guy. I just remember growing up in the Chicago area the ONLY game you could see on TV was ND. Every single fricking week. Grew to hate them with a passion.
yea, ND is one of those teams' people either love or hate. No in-between. I very rarely watch college ball and then only in big games. My only sports passion is Da Bears. A close second da Blackhawks. But your dislike of ND is misguided, imo, it's the TV stations that decide what region watches which games. So dislike the TV stations. But we all hate some team. For everyone, wait until da Bears are great. Which will be soon imo. You will find many a hater. There are 3 teams that people either love or hate with no in-between, Dallas Cowboys, Oakland (Vegas) Raiders and Da Bears. Da Bears haven't been great in the lifetime of most of you. But when it happens, don't be surprised.

This was in the 60's. You had a choice of three channels. One had college football. The others had bowling or golf. So no....there really wasn't any choices.

It is not the weapon's fault if the problem was only that it got misused. That is a key difference than what you said.

There was something wrong in 2023 with the Mooney / Fields connection or lack thereof. It was not that Fields didn't throw them or that Fields didn't throw them on time, which were indeed problems, Fields and Mooney were not on the same page on some where it seemed that Fields expected one thing and Mooney did something else.

Is it possible that Mooney felt slighted by Poles before the season and was not 100% focused on playing because of that?

I don't know the answer but something was wrong in 2023 with Mooney.

I think it was much more on Justin than Mooney.

I respect your thinking on that. I too would say as well. Filmed showed at times Mooney open in certain plays. The ball just wasn’t throw his way, or at all at times. But I will say Mooney has some fault as well.

You could be right but it seems odd that he lost the connection with Mooney while not losing the connection with Kmet and building a connection with DJ.

Mooney still has yet to figure out how to correctly run a route. Has a tendency to round off his routes, this should have been corrected after his rookie season. I’m glad Poles didn’t give him $13million per year. He ain’t worth half of that.

He also forgot how to catch the ball. He had one drop his rookie year but never got close to that again.

The only player I can think of that fell off as quickly as Mooney was Nathan Vasher, who got paid and promptly stopped giving a fuck.

How about the defensive lineman, not the crazy one, but the one with anger issues?

He got kicked out of the facility and never played a down again.

I'm still holding out until the draft. I just wish I knew when that was.

Not really. It was more about who was the #1 WR or late release when DJ wasn't open. Mooney was 1st read the year before.

But he wasn't the #1 read his rookie season but was much better then than in 2023.

It no longer is worth too much talk because Mooney is no longer a Bear and the Bears have moved on because Mooney was overpriced for what he showed in 2022 and especially 2023.

Then why did you bring him up? I sure didn't. Mooney had a different QB his rookie season and AR only had 400 yards in JF's rookie year. Mooney was the defacto #1 as AR lost it. Look, Mooney just got $17m a year and Justin got a late pick on trade. It's easy math. Poles offered Mooney $30m before the season. Did Poles exercise Fields' 5th year option? Mooney is not DJ but I'm tired of any offensive struggle being blamed on everyone but the field general. There are other reasons beside Fields for what happened but that doesn't excuse the significant role he played in it.
