It's gotta be Nick right? I think he can do enough to get us to the playoffs. Mako is out!
Hes not mobile enough to stamd there and throw. Hes going to get destroyed behind that line.

Exactly.......
This is the conversation nobody wants to have. The NFL is evolving at the Qb position, while we go against this evolution
by bringing in foles. Like I mentioned in another post.....I hope all this lights ? under Mitch's butt.

Lighting a fire under Mitch might work. But Leno is a 6th rounder. And he plays like it. The RG plays like hes learning the position because he is. The RT is doing his job but he has a weak RG and on an island against elite pass rushers we just leave him on an island.

Tgis is only fixable by A. improving the players skill levels, B. drafting better o lineman, or C. abandoning the scheme.

Since C was ruled out no one is willing to accept A, B, or a combination of the two have to happen for the QB to be successful. Thats without mentioning TE production in a TE focused offense.

Right so I agree.....lets shore up the OL. In the meantime.....lets not be tied to a immobile Qb that needs to or can only sit in the pocket. Mitch has the mobility.....if he's allowed to use it. Mitch's strength is on bootlegs, sprint-outs, roll-outs, P-Action, waggles etc.

Agreed. You can run your offense in philly with a probowl LT... what happens when the guy on the left is 4.5 seconds at best every play?

Intelligence and vision always win out when it comes to quarterbacks. Foles has these qualifies in spades. He may not start game 1, but he will be our starting QB by week 3 or 4 at the latest.

Mitch is simply too dumb, cannot read defenses, is horribly inaccurate and lacks vision. Time to move on from him.

Foles has a great postseason record. He is playoff tested. Bears just need to keep him healthy going into the playoffs and anything can happen in a one and done. The 14-2 Ravens with a PLUS 250 point differential found out first hand when they got knocked off, lol.

Why would they start the season with the worse guy?

Whoever has the confidence of the coaches to run the scheme in training camp/preseason will start the season, IMO. I see no reason, especially with the abbreviated offseason, to believe that that will be Trubisky.

The question is a little off putting.

Every year I’m rooting for the Bears to win the Super Bowl! I don’t give a F#ck if that takes Donald Trump sacrificing Nancy Pelosi on the blood alter in Goodell’s office to bring Walter Payton back from the dead to QB this team to make it happen!

If this were to happen, Donald Trump would finally be fulfilling his promise to Make America Great Again!

Only if it’s immediately followed by Trump performing seppuku.

I am rooting for whomever plays better, I honestly don't care who wins. I just hope one or both plays well.

My perfect scenario is they both look good and the Bears have a tough decision to make on who starts and who sits. My expectation is they both look average to below average and the Bears have a tough decision to make on who starts and who sits. While my nightmare scenario is they both look like a steaming pile and the Bears have a tough decision to make on who starts and who sits.

We should be rooting for Trubisky because even if there is the 0,0000000000001% he might be a good QB something Foles will never be specially at 31, with that being said this time Trubisky really has to win the job, i can see the locker room getting real nervous quickly if the best guy sits

Pretty loaded question.

Maybe this is the smart ass answer this thread deserves: I'm rooting for better play from the QB position. Both Mitch & Nick are good people and I hope that either one of them or a combo of the two helps the Bears get more from the position.

Also, I hope the OL helps the QB's job be a bit easier. Mitch was far from great in 2019, but this is football and position groups have to work together. IMHO last year the OL regressed more than any position group on this team. Pretending that didn't affect other areas is just being naive.

I'm not giving Mitch a bye, I'm just trying to understand that there's blame to be spread around.

At least we upgraded the backup QB position, do you remember when Clausen played against Seattle?
