I think it is awesome that Jay Cutler can turn the ball over on the 1 yard line... fumble and give up a touchdown... throw a late turnover and still come away victorious....

If there is the patriots giants falcons broncos or saints people would be saying that this is just another example of a great quarterback overcoming adversity and finding a way to win...

When in reality it is just having a really solid quarterback with actual weapons around him marching down field with 2 minutes left...

the interception from the 1 yard line... it was a bad play call as much as it was a bad throw <--- when that happens bad shit happens ... bushrod was like a revolving door on that fumble... Jay needs to get rid of the ball, but that shit happens... its football...

I don't have a problem with the grade. I agree that the other "awesome" teams like NE, KC, NO, etc... - aren't clearly better than the Bears. I don't think there's a dominant team in the league right now. SEA is a Deangelo Williams fumble away from being 1-1. They're always good at home. They basically play in a dome, and most dome teams have a HUGE home field advantage. It's why ATL runs up a good record every year, when they're always just a better than average football team.

The Bears should've kicked the shit out of MIN, and they didn't. They were sloppy as hell in turning the ball over. You'll never get away with that on the road. It's still awesome that they won in spite of the kick return TD and the 4 TO's.

I keep reading about SEA's 12th man. Hasn't it been established that they pipe in fake noise?? Nobody ever acknowledges that. Either: A) They do that (which should be illegal), and it negates their awesome fans...B) Their stadium is designed to be louder than all other teams, including dome teams (hard to believe)...-or-...C) Their fans are just so super special awesome and they yell louder than other NFL fans.

There are 32 teams in the league and only 8 are undefeated. By default all 8 of those teams are above average aka "C" level. It would be stupid to rank the Bears based on their statistical rank versus the quality of opponent and the fact they are undefeated. Both teams the Bears beat were playoff teams meanwhile the Patriots struggled to beat the non playoff jets/bills, Houston barely beat the non playoff chargers/titans, Saints had a good win vs Falcons and looked bad against the non playoff buccaneers. Chiefs beat the jaguars and barely beat the Cowboys. Dolphins beat the Browns and the Colts.

So again other than the Seahawks and Broncos, which other undefeated team has two better wins than the Bears and deserves an "A"? It all comes down to how you want to grade the teams, Based on the crap Hub said, no way are the Texans, Saints, Dolphins, Chiefs, or Patriots better than the Bears THIS year. You can give a billion reasons why the Bears don't deserve an "A" based on whatever stat you want, but if you are gonna say the Patriots etc are better, I say you and HUB are idiots.

If you think the Bears have played well enough so far to beat teams like San Francisco, Seattle, Green Bay & Denver you have shit for brains. I don't need a stat. The Bengals will be in the playoffs, your nuts if you think the Vikings will be. Four turnovers, bad special teams play, little production from the front 4, & some questionable play calls do not warrant an A grade for a team that has squeaked by in two games so far. The Bears have the potential to beat anyone, but until they prove they can at a higher level of play than what I've seen so far, they're not. YOU are a shit for brains if you think the way the was the Bears played over the last two games is good enough to beat any of the four teams I mentioned.

Jesus christ, the guy gets paid to be objective not be a fucking Bears homer. You're honestly telling me at this point right now you'd give the Bears a grade higher than B+? I call shenanigans on that.

Well said. Totally agree. The Bears are 2-0 but look like they have a lot of room for improvement. That should be obvious to anyone paying attention to the games. And I never understood why a fan would get so offended over arbitrary rankings or why they want only homers analyzing their favorite teams (see Hawk Harrison).

Not only are we 2-0, but we've beaten two of last year's playoff teams. That's something VERY different from the Lovie era.

I think you guys might just be angry that the article was written by Hub. B+ is a very fair rating considering how sloppy we were Sunday. He's obviously overrating New England, though.

Well the 9ers were pathetic on Monday, the pack got shredded by CK, and the hawks had a very tough time with the panthers.

EVERY team has a lot to improve on at this stage of the season.

I think it would be funny if they turned around the Bear and players were coming out of his butt

For me, it's not so much that the Bears deserve a higher grade than a B+. What irks me is that a team like the Patriots get a higher grade when they have no offense at all and barely beat the Jets and Bills. They're getting a higher grade purely because of reputation. Until they can get Brandon Lloyd back from Hollywood's Direct-to-DVD zombie movie and Gronk, they won't have a passing game to speak of.

The Bears have a top 3 OLine according to NFL stats, Jay Cutler has a 95 Qb Rating and only sacked once, I dont see how thats a B-. The run game hasn't been great but I also think the Bears have not tried to run the ball at a high rate other than running out the clock in the cincinnati game. Barely above average seems a little harsh after reading all the good grades you have given in your reviews.

Forte averaged 4.7 against the Vikings. The run game was improved over week 1.

My OP is more of an Anti-Hub post than a Bears are the greatest post. I can take logical reasons why the Bears are a B+ team based on them not being a finished product, BUT all logic goes out the window when you try to claim the Bears are a whole tier below the damn Patriots and Texans THIS year. You can't mix and match your grading scale to match preconceived ideas, otherwise its biased which is exactly what Hub is doing. There are alot of people hiding in the bushes that can't wait to say "I Told You So" and "Same Old Bears" like Jamie Dukes said after the first freaking game, despite obvious improvements.

I like calling out the haters ahead of time so we can kick their ass off the bandwagon when the Bears really start rolling this year.
