If the Phillies make him available. They are still above .500, and even with Halladay going down they could hang around in the postseason picture. Then at the end of the year they offer compensation because there is no way he takes it and get the best of both worlds.

Sure it is possible, but it is hardly a foregone conclusion that they will drop especially since they stand only a game and half out of a wildcard spot at the moment. If they do, then yeah Hamels could be out there and would be the best available. Same could be said for the Brewers and Greinke. We will have to wait and see what happens.

PHI only 4 games out. I dont see them falling out of race. Hamels will get them compensation next year so they dont need to trade him.
