At 8.25 million per season, that is one heck of a cap hit. Even more so with the cap going down.

Corey Perry just got the same deal.

Bobby Ryan probably on the trade block in the near future.

I have to believe that the NHLPA is going to give the go ahead (eventually) for mandatory visors in the NHL. We already see it in the AHL and the Olympic levels. Would guess they will let players go without visors who are grandfathered in.

EDIT: I can see why the players want to fight for the right to choose in this. Wearing no visor is almost night and day different than wearing a visor. However, when you do switch over to a visor, it doesn't take that long to get used to. Just a little more maintenance and you have to worry about fogging, which rarely happens anyways with a staff to assist. At the end of the day, there is no doubt that you feel a whole lot safer when you have a visor on. I mean hell, I always felt a whole lot safer with a full cage on (even at the adult level) but I go with the in between now adays with the visor.

And on the power play, too. Not bad. Why Jordan Staal isn't getting the assist I'll never know.

Would have been a lot sweeter if Brodeur got the shutout. A shutout and the game winning goal...that's a good nights work right there.

Yeah, I was hoping for a 1-0 Devils whitewash.

Also, insert your Brodeur-has-more-goals-this-year-than-Bollig jokes here.
