Stammer closing in on 50 goals again.

Man, this dude is a joy to watch. Lightning now only 2 points out of a playoff spot.

I think it is a bit ridiculous, but I think we all have to get used to players getting an inflated salary compared to what we saw just a year ago. I mean, Kopecky earning 3Mil!? Absolutely ridiculous!

All these signings lately are making Stan and Co (Tallon on Hossa...even though rumors say Tallon wanted Havlat and the Bowman's wanted Hossa) look pretty damn smart for having Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabrook, and Sharp all locked up for a pretty long time at what seems to be a pretty damn good cap hit for the current times. I could only imagine what kind of cap hit those guys would command if they were all signed this year.

I agree. The only way those long term deals turn out to be bad is if the cap is reconfigured that actual salary is the cap number instead of aav. Then the Hawks have 18 players signed (including Shaw, Hayes, Olsen, and excluding Olescz) at 59.69 for next season. Depending on if there's a rollback, that could be quite tight.
