He was challenging fans and radio hosts to fights. He was starting his usual gimmick to get out of town. Now he gets to work in New York so he doesn't have to travel for the show and he gets to wear mental awareness green all year long. This was calculated by Marshall. Nothing wrong with that, he should have just asked for a trade though. Would have been easier than manufacturing the drama.

Did he not Go on record with what his illness was while with the Bears? Think mental disease is not a disease? I can tell you that it is via personal experience. People with his kind of affliction need counseling and medication to help them get through particularly stressful situations. It is treatable in Marshall's case and the Bears were stupid to not recognize it and support him. That is the ignorance of the McCaskey family and as a result they gave away the best receiver in the history of the Bears.

The 2011 Bears gave up 21.3 PPG ranked 17th (8-8 record).
The 2012 Bears gave up 17.3 PPG, ranked 5th (10-6 record).

In the last twenty years 46.12% of all the NFL regular season games were decided by 7 or less points and 23.59% of the football games were decided by 3 or less.
This tells me that the defense was more of a factor than anything. Giving up 4 less PPG translates into more victories. As the defense declines, so does the record as shown from being ranked 5th in 2012 down to 30th in 2013 and 2014.

You directly correlated BM with a gain in victories from 2011 to 2012. Do you also correlate BM with a decline in victories from 2012 to 2013 and 2014? Or would you put that on the D?

The only correlation I see is over a 10 year career, his teams (4 of them) average 8-8. A zero sum game. I am in no way trying to say that he is not a great WR. I'm just saying that everywhere he has gone so far, none of the teams have really benefitted.

By that logic, the Chicago Cubs never benefited from the presence of Ernie Banks. It is such a lame argument that you make. The guy has been a top three receiver in the NFL for his entire career and you say that his team was better because of his efforts? That is just nuts.

Apparently you stopped reading once you saw something that you didn't agree with. Did I not say "I am in no way trying to say that he is not a great WR"? He is. But yes, I am saying the teams were no better. 10 years 3 winning seasons average 8-8. Zero sum, teams remained no better or worse with or without him record wise. Sorry, it's the truth, you can't deny it.

Sure he did. I never said that he was lying about having a mental disease. I know that he does. But that still doesn't mean he didn't manufacture drama to get out of town.

2014 Jets = 4-12

2015 Jets - 10-6

Whoops....

2014 Jets - no playoffs
2015 Jets - no playoffs.

Still didn't make a difference. Whoops!

So winning six more games in a 16 game season isn't a big time improvement? Come-on.

I'm really interested to see how Marty does with 'The Patriots Way' and their no nonsense approach to football. I could see Bill getting fed up with Marty's antics real quick and I could also see that environment being really good for Marty. Getting him to lock in every day.

On the Alshon trade front. I think he has a lot to prove to this staff but they know it'd be dumb to get rid of him right now. Bears hold the cards in this negotiation and they know it. Big year for him both in production and games played.

Let Bennett try and slam a Patriot 1st rounder.....he will be cut and it will be in the papers before the guy hits the ground.

Marty will be fine on new england for the year. But he won't be a patriot in 2017, because they have a salary cap crunch next off season and he'll be looking for maximum dollars for his last big payday. I bet he ends up with his brother in Seattle once they give up on the jimmy graham experiment
