I don't think it indicates that at all. I don't think this coaching staff has any idea what he is yet since they barely even know who he is and he can play T or G.

I can't see Pickens making it or the new staff even wanting to bother with development.
Probably should have cut bait in year 1 like Dan Bazuin, or certainly last year.

Until he shows me otherwise this is how low I am on him currently.

When we drafted Dexter and Pickens, my thought was “Okay, I like taking a shot at two late 2nd/early 3rd round DTs in the hopes that one pans out.”

If Dexter becomes a good player, I’m fine with the outcome. It’s easy to say now that we should have drafted a different position with the Pickens pick, because then we’d have a DT in Dexter and somebody else, but that would be using hindsight.

Depending on the competition, and his effort, they may put him on the PS. But yah, I don't see him on the 53.

We will see after this year, Dexter had a higher pressure rate last year and prior to billings going down was on a pro bowl pace.

Once he was the primary double team on the team his production considerably slipped.

Turner is also 2.5 years older than dexter. Most great interior lineman took 3-4 years to get to that level in the NFL. I am sure there would have been plenty of giants fans who would have traded dexter lawrence for either defensive tackle taken in the first after him those first few years....now he's arguably the best DT in football but didnt truly break out till year 4.

I'm very high on dexter and believe he will break out to have a pro bowl level year with all the additional pieces on the dline taking attention off him.

Pickens was projected on most boards as a 3rd. Martin was projected as a 7th or UDFA. Although the results are the same at least Poles didn’t make him a 4round reach.
