Gone are the days of Dominque Wilkins, Doc Rivers. Here today are Joe Johnson, Al Horford, and Josh Smith. This team has fallen short of lofty goals in the past few seasons. It's up to coach Larry Drew to do something that has never happened in Atlanta. A NBA Championship. "We're ready now man. It gets old falling short to our rivals in Florida. We need to get to the Eastern Conference Finals, and win the NBA title." Josh Smith said. Joe Johnson isn't letting his max deal overshadow the team goal "I'd trade the rest of my contract for one title here man. This city has been great to me. I've doubted em before, but these fans are the best in the NBA. It's up to me to bring a title home for them."

Just read chatbox lol...may this team be 50x better than your Pacers team.

You might get to .500 if that's the case. :troll:

Josh Smith Vows to Improve Jump Shot

Josh Smith promised the Atlanta media that he would not only improve his jump shot, he will also improve his percentages. "Last year, man it felt like I was just shooting because. I lost my mind on the court. The Hawks depend on me to keep focus and play intense defense. That's what I'll do. I can study hard, take good shots, and give 100% on defense. If I do that, our goal of the Eastern Conference Finals should be within reach."

Hawks Fall in Minnesota

Joe Johnson's 17 points weren't enough to lift the Atlanta Hawks to victory, as the Hawks fell 53-48. Josh Smith shot 2-8 and left many Hawks fans :smh:ing. The Hawks head to Atlanta for a matchup with the Boston Celtics.

Hawks Waiver Dampier, Sign Odom

In a surprising move on Thursday, the Hawks announced they had waived center Erick Dampier. Shortly following, it was announced that the Hawks had signed former 6th Man of the Year Lamar Kardashian to a 1 year $1.74M contract.

Johnson's 30 Lift Hawks

After being down 12 in the fourth quarter, Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks decided enough was enough. They weren't going to let down the Atlanta fans on opening night. The Hawks went on a 51-28 run to close the game, including last second 3 pointers by Kirk Hinrich and Jeff Teague to force the game to 1 and then 2 overtimes. Overtime was all Joe Johnson, he had Ray Allen begging for mercy. Johnson ran the break, posted Allen up, and went to the free throw line twice on and-1s. There is no rest for the Hawks as they head for a playoff rematch with the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.

T-Mac Guides Hawks to Narrow Win

The Hawks scraped by the Bulls 40-39 Saturday night in Chicago. Tracy McGrady reminded fans of how explosive he still is, by scoring 8 points on 4-5 shooting in 5 minutes. "It felt great. It'd be nice to get more minutes though. I can't do it in that short of time every game." McGrady said after the game. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 15 points. The Hawks have 3 days off before heading home to face the New York Knicks and former Hawk coach Mike Woodson.
