We had Liberty Mutual for a long time and when their rates kept going up even though I hadn't had an "at-fault" claim in years, we finally decided to switch. We went with State Farm and although they are cheaper, I haven't had the best experience with my latest claim.
On July 12, we had a storm come through while we were camping and it blew the awning off our trailer. We filed the claim but had to find someone to come out and estimate the repair cost ourselves. We couldn't get anyone out there for almost 2 weeks. Finally we got 2 estimates and they were sent in. The guys doing the estimates were also supposed to send pictures. I finally had to call SF to find out what was going on to find out they didn't have the pictures yet. Just a couple of days ago the repair place called and said that SF sent a check out last Friday. Not sure why we weren't notified of this. It's been a week and the check still hasn't shown up. It's been over a month and we still don't have an awning.
This claim has been a total clusterfuck with no communication from State Farm at all. The only time we find anything out is when we call them.
