I want to keep Butler as insurance. I agree, he would do much better after a camp, grinding down the system and learning the team.

Hill, I like that idea. That is ultimately Grant's choice. I think Hill could become a coach one day, and there is no better place than under Thibs right now, to get in line. Ultimately because Thibs has no real apprentice lined up.

I also think if we can grab Wilson Chandler, then Brewer, Chandler, Deng can all rotate SF rather well. It gives us back the opportunity to start Brewer, if we fall short in this potentially, wacky off-season. We still keep depth, and I think more people would like Bogans off the bench.

Now if we can nab both Hill and Chandler, I think we can consider that a win for this offseason. I say that because of the doom we might face with the new CBA. We need to keep enough headroom to keep Rose happy. While he might be 100% Chicago4Life, his future will be put into his agent's hands at some point, and thats where we might feel the hangover of signing one wrong contract THIS offseason.

I guess we could always hope Rose pulls an MJ and takes far less money than he's worth because Adidas decides to give him ridiculous endorsements so we can sign better players. Ah, who am I kidding...that'll never happen.

Nike should buy out Derrick Rose's Addidas contract..Nike has a much better product than addidas..I'm not hating, but the Derrick Rose shoes are kinda ugly..

I have no idea what you're talking about. Those shoes look pretty sick to me.

I think it would be best to DRAFT A YOUNG SF to be his back up instead of spending money via Free Agency on a Back Up SF, Chandler Parsons from Florida wouldn't be bad backups to have for Deng, not much of a fan of Singler but he would be bad...AS A BACK UP

I know the talk is that the Bulls probably will use one of the picks on a International Player that won't come to the US for a few years, but I think they should try to use both picks...one on a SG of course and the other on either a SF to back up Deng or maybe even a BIG MAN with MORE OFFENSIVE SKILLS then Asik and Noah, maybe someone Nikola Vucevic from USC, he kinda remind me of Marc Gasol, a big guy who can play inside and post up but also has a nice Jump...YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY BIG MEN! Only problem is that he is very slow so he probably wouldn't fit with the Bulls

Trey Thompkins from Georgia would fit though, another big man with GOOD OFFENSIVE SKILLS, would be great insurance just in case the Bulls have to move Taj as part of a deal for a SG or something

It is his hometown team and would prob. wouldnt care(hopefully)

If I was in Rose's shoes, I would take less so we can spend on free agents. But i haven't got the type of $$$ players receive and $ changes ppl

HELL YES! If he falls, that would be a steal at #28, but Honeycutt could probably end up playing SG maybe even starting at SG if given the chance, kinda reminds me of Kevin Martin but with MUCH BETTER PERIMETER DEFENSE and More Athletic!

I'm sure Grant said a few times that he wants to stay in Phoenix. He loves the training staff and credits them for sorting out his injury problems.

If the Suns, however, would trade Nash, I could see Hill leaving as well.

In that case, I'd LOVE to see him in Chicago. The guy is one of my favorite players ever. And even at his age, his game is rock-solid. Beautiful mid-range jumper, and he even hits the corner threes quite reliably. He takes charges to no end and has guarded every position from Derrick and Chris Paul, to LeBron, Durant and Blake Griffin - and he was good at it!

Very true. A lot of the reason Jordan took way less money was because he made so much with Nike and other endorsements that he didn't even really need the salary money. Rose is such a humble and just nice guy in general and he really wants to win, so I'm sure if someone said to him "Derrick, I know this might not sound great to you, but I recommend you take less money so the team has more money to improve. The money can be made up later when you're winning championships." he'd at least consider it. Then again, seeing as a lot of these guys came from poverty stricken areas, that large amount of money they get affects them to some degree.

hahaha Jordan had no choice but to get paid so "little."

He was "only" making 2-3 million a year for most of his career because NBA players just didn't make that much money until the late 90's.

His last 2 years witht he bulls, he made 33 million each year. That's the most any NBA player has made in one season EVER.

Trust me... if MJ was playing in today's game, he would take all the money he can get like everyone else hahaha

Yeah they didn't make as much, but still proportional to the average salary, Jordan was still not paid anywhere near the max I don't think (though I might be wrong since I don't remember the exact salary numbers from the 90s). Those last 2 years were kind of like payback of sorts for him. For all he did, he deserved every penny of those 33 million dollars. And yeah, I know he made the most money in a season ever, but my point is, he took less money early on so the team could take that extra money and put it elsewhere.

And if MJ was playing today, we have no reason to say he'd be taking all the money he could get. For all we know, the same thing could've happened. He gets ridiculous Gatorade, Nike, and McDonald's endorsements and takes a salary of like 12-14 million a year. We don't know.

MJ was pretty close to the top salary, if not THE top.

No great player then made much. Hakeem didn't make over 3.1 Million until 96. and even then it was only 5 million. Magic never made more than 3.1 million. Etc.

I think in 96, or 97, there was a new cap or w/e and that's when they start giving out big contracts. MJ took all he could get apparently.

did he deserve the 63 million he made in 2 years? Yes. But he never took less. He always took the most he could get.

So him taking as much as he could get in the past leads to believe that he would have done the same if he played in the 00's.

Most players do.

As the players should, they should take the most money possible.

I don't want D Rose to get hurt and lose out on millions he earned.

Ok, I'll take your word for it then. I was for some reason under the impression that he took several million less than he could've gotten. I guess you're right then.
