Bad Dog Owners

I want to rant for a minute.

My brother just called me and relayed a story about his neighbor's dogs. They're pit bulls and just killed another neighbors dog. He found the dog with its throat ripped out. Everyone knows these dogs. They're dangerous. Are always attacking the fence trying to get out and just seem like vicious dogs. We all knew it was only a matter of time before something like this happens. Thankfully it wasn't a kid.... this time.

Thing is.... I don't blame the dogs. I blame the fucking assholes who leave the dogs outside all day with zero attention or training. 105 degree heat... they're outside with little to no cover. Baseball size hail.... these dogs are out there fending for themselves. They're always ripping holes in the fence.... but it's everyone else's responsibility to fix the fence. And this neighborhood is loaded with small children.

If you're reading this and you're the type of dog owner that doesn't take responsibility for your pet. Go **** yourself.

Sorry, I'm just pissed off right now.

Just ridiculous. Dogs have never been socialized and are obviously neglected. I hope that the dog owner who had his dog killed calls the cops and brings it to their attention. That's terrible.

Because puppies are cute. Then they grow up and assholes like this ignore them. Or, they think it's cool to have an "attack" dog. This kind of shit really pisses me off.

Pits are good dogs if the owner isn't a moron. I've had mean dogs but none would hurt a child or another dog.

Yeah, that's why I said I blame the owners and not the dog. I haven't known many pitt bulls but I've heard a lot of people think they're great dogs. It's just something about that breed that attracts moron dog owners as you say.

No idea man. No idea. My dog is an integral member of the family. Couldn't imagine it any other way.

Anyways, thanks to all for listening to my rant. Worst part is this was supposedly an old lady who was crying and shit that her dog got killed. Feel bad for my brother having to wrap it up and bring it to her.

Neighbor has a pit bull. Their dumbass college kid bought him and duh, he lives in an apartment. He brings the dog over everyday and the parents leave it in the backyard all day long. My dog is the sweetest MOFO you've ever seen. A mix between black lab and american bulldog. That dog is busting the fence up and scaring my kids and wife. Barks all the goddamn time.

Hey parent, be a parent and tell your kid and his dog to GTFO. They're messing with my backyard peace! All of the neighbors have complained. I'm thinking of buying it a bone to STFU.

My sister's neighbor has a pitbull that can and does climb chain length fences... luckily he seems to be nice.... he climbed the fence once when she was having a party and we just petted the dog till the dude came around to get him, but the dude leaves that dog tied up in the backyard all the time it seems like.

If you get a dog you should look at it like having a kid IMO, I know people hate that comparison, but you should feel a similar level of responsibility for raising/training the dog and spending time with it.

I want to get a dog and I could if I wanted, but I live alone and the dog would be couped up in my house all day with no chance to go outside unless I am home, so I don't have a dog.

I think the same people who have shitty dogs (because they neglect them and/or don't know how to raise them) are the people who have shitty kids (because they neglect them and/or don't know how to raise them)

I went to pet a Great Dane a few years ago and he tore my hand up pretty bad. Come to find out that it's a breed that really need socializing with people and other dogs as it grows or it becomes mean.

My sister has a St Bernard, it's the most loving dog I think I can remember. Unfortunately he's gigantic and just playing around he's almost took my knee out from running into the back of my leg. He's harmless though, a big teddy bear.

Otto loves everyone, it's amazing. He's only 4 and he's already developing hip issues though, it's common for the breed.

I have two pitties 95 and 55 lbs. They are basically our children. They have one job and it's to protect the house. They cannot do that if they are locked outside. Doggie door let's them go out when they want. It's time to get a third so I have an actual pack.

But they are treated ? as part of the family. Pitbulls need that sort of care and attention.
