Its a jab at the Sox, but the Sox are their biggest rivals for summer entertainment, so, who cares. I wouldn't care if the Sox had a similar ad.

I don't know that it's that big of a jab, but I can see why people would think that. They're trying to sell the ballpark and the experience until they get some actual MLB players

The Cubs really don't need to market themselves. Maybe 25-30 years ago, but not now.

Wrigley is a historic ballpark and bigger attraction than U.S. Cellular Field and the atmosphere around the park and at the game is more entertaining to the casual fan. I think both Sox and Cubs fans can agree on that.

You're a child who can't read. I never said the AL was better. The Cubs did say the AL isn't on par with that ad tho. The players are going to call him coach or skipper not manager. Don't play that semantics game.

You're a child who can't read. I never said that you said it was better. But you always bring up the AL and NL and the original ad said nothing about NL being better than AL at all. You completely misunderstood the meaning behind the billboard and took it out of proportion.

It is not a jab at the Sox at all.

To be fair, the "baseball is better" slogan can be interpreted in many different ways, which is probably why the ad folks chose it.

Agreed on the point that the Cubs even have to market themselves.. I said the same thing a few years ago..

I think they do it.. Just to do it..

why??

They are just going off what Theo said at his presser. I think it's more of marketing Theo than Dale or any other thing. I just think after he said "baseball is better" what seemed like 100 times in his presser the marketing team decided to go with it.

I think the Cubs actually switched away from that one agency that did the "Way of Life" thing and hired a company from New York. Guess the new company set up the new slogan/ad campaign.

Cubs New Slogans:
"It takes a special team to go 100 years without winning!"
"Only one team can have the longest drought in baseball!"
"Hey, at least we aren't the Montreal Expos!" (Or Louisville Colonels, Indianapolis Blues, Columbus Solons, Worcester Ruby Legs, any city that no longer has a team, etc.)
"No matter how bad we play, you'll still have a good time."
"See that blonde in the Right Field bleachers?"
