Look, whatever the fuckery that has taken over this thread, this is what I have to say: go to Cancun. If TCD was like, do you want to sit here in our derelict apartment in the rainy, cold winter, or sit on a sandy beach and swim and read books and drink tequila for 5 days, I would chose the damn beach. The beach is my favourite place in the world. I want to live on a beach. Beaches are made of magic and awesome. People are barely clothed!!! There are interesting animals swimming around.

GO TO CANCUN!

Are you referring to Jako snorkeling?

Jako, I have been to Cancun numerous times and if you are looking for a quick getaway with a short flight time, for a great price and have it be all inclusive it really is hard to beat that area. Some of the hotel beaches are better then others. If you like a decent beach, a little off the beaten path of the hotel zone commercial area and that has some nice snorkeling and with price being a consideration, see if the Riu Caribe pops up on the list. Riu Cancun is nice as well.

You know how to get ahold of me if you want some personal advice. Trip Advisor is a great suggestion that I often refer to. If you end up going there and want to have one evening to really, really spoil the Mrs., one of our most favorite restaurants anywhere is located on the bay side of Cancun. You will spend a little $$ but eating at sunset over the water with spectacular food..... you will definitely score some bonus points. The restaurant is Lorenzillo's (no need to speak Spanish there) http://lorenzillos.com.mx/restaurante/

Wow. Some great info here folks. Not just about Cancun but other places as well. The were some stipulations, one being there must be white sandy beaches. I don't know if i want white per se, but a sandy beach would be nice.

One day I may make it to Hawaii, but before I go there, I want to visit Samoa. See where I come from, if Samoan dudes are really big like me, and so on.

What ever you do, you have to be at the Hawks game on March 25. My nephew Ryan won the "kid of the game" contest and we are going to that game. For some unknown reason, he specifically asked "can we see Jako when we go to the game?" Me and Nicole just looked at each other and laughed that he thought of you.

Out of all the people he met at the Ice Hogs game, he remembered you by name. The kid is so excited to go to the game and ride the zamboni he was speechless for the first time in his life.

Jako, there is zero reason to have any concern of safety in the Cancun region. I would even say the same for any of the tourist areas like Cabo, Cozumel, Puerto, etc.

Riviera Maya section of Mexico is ideal. Beaches are fantastic. Water pristine. Plenty of inexpensive places to stay.

I'm sure the tourist areas are safe. Still doesn't change my opinion.

Jako, there are some nice all inclusives in Puerto Vallarta as well. Both Cancun and Puerto are easy to get to, and once there, easy to get around. Apple vacations does some all-inclusives to Mexico, as well as Jamaica. If you wanted to stay State-side, Miami Beach is pretty active, Ft. Lauderdale has everything including hockey games.

Sarasota has white sandy beaches, and you can make a drive to Tampa to catch a Boltz game. The Bahamas are easy to get to and also have all-inclusives, and the islands don't have the gang crime associated with Mexico right now.

Considering that I'm not a sun or warm weather person...I can't advise. I personally love the Oregon/Washington/BC beaches even though they're colder than our powerplay, and definitly love the rain.

That being said, If money was no object, I would recomment Croatia. I've heard they have some of the best beaches for sun lovers.

Hawaii, nothing beats it, I'm lucky enough to be heading back there this year from March 12th-19th. Can't fucking wait to get out of this cold for a week and into paradise.
Yep. Maybe I haven't been enough places, but nothing beats Hawaii, I'm fortunate enough to have a cousin there so I can go visit him and all it costs is airfare. Yet I've only been once. I suck.

'Three Tables' and 'Shark Cove' on the North Shore of Oahu where great for snorkelling. We did not get to Hanauma Bay as it was too crowded.

Wanted to do Shark Cove last time I was there but someone went missing there a couple days before we got there and it was closed while we were there. Maybe we'll get there this time.

Hanauma Bay was amazing, and not too bad crowd wise when I was there. I had a super hard time trying not to touch the reef as at some points you were almost boxed in as the water was so shallow but that was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip. The colors on the fish were like nothing i'd ever seen. I wish I was more coordinated with my breathing so I could have taken more advantage of the opportunity.

I am not a sun guy either, although I don't mind a little vitamin D every now and again. It was mostly the lady saying she needs a beach. The last few years she did Poland and a family thing at Disney in Florida. I was intrigued as I have never done a beach vacation, and should probably do it once.

If you are going to snorkel, try to find a Rash Guard (stretchy kinda shirt) and some surf shoes before you have to buy them at some expensive rip shop.

Poland would be fun--Amazingly enough I've never gone there in spite of being so close. I have told the wife I do want to see Krakow and Warsaw but we never got the chance to go there yet.

I would also love to do Ireland and Scotland, maybe the other one over there. But again, that would involve going places and doing things.
