Their players are overhyped because they get so much media coverage and their ownership is all about promoting the players like they’re the greatest thing since sliced bread. They have talent, but it’s always overrated. Even when they’re not good everyone is like “I don’t get it. They have a great roster.” It’s a great roster because you’re brainwashed into believing anybody who is half decent on the team is a superstar in the making.
I agree with this.

An average Dallas Cowboy is treated like a superstar.

People act like Dak is on the level of the best QBs but is probably closer to middle of the pack than the top.

Say what you will about the McCaskey’s, but at least they know when they don’t know and stay hands off as much as possible. Jerry thinks he’s God’s gift to football…

Most people act like Dak isn't nearly as good as his numbers. Same as they did with Romo.

This is so spot on. Trevon Diggs having the most INTs since 1981 to go alone with 20+ pass breakups and Micah Parsons making first team all pro as a rookie had nothing to do with their play on the field. It's a grand conspiracy.

Young posters take note: you won't find a more sound analysis anywhere then right here on CCS.

yeah, pointing out their arguably two best players is what I’m talking about. You clearly like the cowboys. Lol at this bullshit. I’m talking about guys like Michael Gallup. and even Prescott to a lesser extent. He’s decent but overrated. Gallup is pretty solid example without me having to think hard about it. I’m sure I could come up with more.

That white linebacker they had who retired I think last year, he’s a pretty good example. The cowboys fans treated him like a hall of famer. He was always hurt. Had a decent career with way too many missed games. But cowboys fans think he was this great player. He was never on the field.

Tony Pollard. He’s fine. You probably think he’s like a borderline pro bowl calibre player or something close to that.

anybody that’s half decent is made out to be this potential pro bowler or a future all pro.

I actually don't like the cowboys even a little so I stopped reading your nonsense right there. It's called being objective. Pointing out that they have drafted as well as any team in football is simply stating a fact. In the last two drafts they drafted TWO all pro caliber players, outside of the top 10 mind you and probably a future 3rd with Lamb.

maybe. but nobody has a hold on the National media the way the cowboys do. And no other franchises are so blatantly promotional about hyping up their players the way they do. And the biggest franchises that do have national pull also exist in markets where the media will actually go after the teams. Small market media protects the franchise. Big markets will go after the team. New York media treats their teams completely different than St Louis. Dallas has market that coddles them, but they still get major market national attention. And their ownership is like a PR department for the franchise and the players. So it’s almost always positive spin coming out of there. Even when they’re not good. It’s always like “they have all these great players. Shy are they underachieving?” It’s because their players always hyped up and promoted by the franchise and it’s on a national level. So they get the benefit of having what’s essentially a small market positive media that doesn’t go negative, but on a national level.

You’re one of the sheep that the media easily manipulates.

At least the owner's children in Dallas are not as incompetent as the McCaskey children. They can and have steered him away from some of his stupid draft wishes.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
What are you even blabbering on about. I pointed out the talent on that team vs the bears. It's not arguable. Dallas has consistently had one of the better Olines in football across a 30 year span. Multiple all pros on defense and outside weapons that bears fans would drool over. The majority of their playmakers are still very young on both sides of the ball.

Dallas does have better talent, but not by the scale you are claiming.

My point is every year people overrate the amount of talent on Dallas.

You’re thinking of Sean Lee.

Mimi, the cowboys have a very talented roster, with only a few holes. Really, their only weakness is the back end on the secondary.

seriously, go position by position and they are much more talented than CHI as a team.

Pollard could be pro bowl calibre, if not stuck behind Zeke

The Cowboys have the best owner and the worst GM in the league. Unfortunately they are the same person. Both ownerships are bad because of their involvement in team operations. Both are dysfunctional. At least Jerry has some knowledge, wants to win, and knows how to promote his team. At least Jerry has multiple Super Bowls.
