Just some "official" confirmation about getting a comp pick if Davis is cut.

The Bears signed running back Mike Davis to a two-year, $6 million contract this offseason. That has not gone well, and if General Manager Ryan Pace is smart, he’ll admit his mistake and cut Davis this week.

That’s because, as noted by Nick Korte, the Davis signing is currently preventing the Bears from receiving a 2020 fourth-round compensatory pick. Under the NFL’s complex compensatory pick formula, the Bears would have received a fourth-rounder for losing free agent Adrian Amos. The signing of Davis canceled out the loss of Amos, however — except that if Davis is cut before Week 10, he doesn’t count as a signing for compensatory pick purposes, and the fourth-rounder for Amos would be restored.

Given that Davis has just 11 carries for 25 yards all season, cutting him this week should be a no-brainer.

send pace an email I don’t think he is aware his signing of another bum is going to hurt our team not just on the field but in next years draft

If Pace is this stubborn this should be the nail in his coffin.

Davis is obviously the missing piece for a serious run to .500. If Pace cuts him the team will undoubtedly turn on him.

It is a fireable offense by not releasing Mike Davis. I have a feeling he is not going to do it. Agree with the idot comment made above.

Who the hell is Mike Davis? I'm told he's a player the Bears signed but I don't believe it, as he's been a complete nonfactor the entire season

I think I need two hands for all the firing offenses Ryan Emory has done during his 4 year reign of incompetence

"They traded a good running back in Jordan Howard for a conditional sixth round pick. Surely they will “trade” Mike Davis for a fourth round pick, right? Let’s see if logic prevails."

It will give Davis the chance to catch on with another team, maybe even back with the Seahawks and the Bears will get a very important 4th rd pick next year.

Dump him and Shaheen. Bring up Nall and give him a shot at Playing Hback or TE. He may fail, but at least he looks like he knows how to play football, plus you are trying something, which gives your players hope.

It really has nothing to do with gving someone else an opportunity. It has to do with the Bears sucking so bad that the NFL is granting them a free mid rd draft pick if they just release a player that is not getting any snaps right now and will not be on the team next year. Pace won't do it though.
