Using the current draft order, there appear to be several potential QB-needy teams in the top 10.

Getting that #1 overall pick could be absolutely huge. If you could swap firsts and snag a next-year's-first from one of those top-10 teams, that'd be the dream. Is it possible? We'll see. I have my doubts about being able to do that with the #2 or #3 pick, but the #1 pick?

If the Bears edged out the Texans for the #1 pick, here might be your top 10:

1. Bears
2. Texans (Need a QB, but do they get one now? Either way, don't think they'll need to trade to get one.)
3. Seahawks (Geno Smith is a good story, but is that really their long-term plan?)
4. Cardinals (Might they think about trading Murray?)
5. Colts (Will never stop trying to find the QB answer each offseason. Could be in the draft.)
6. Falcons (Desmond Ridder is completely unknown. Do you give up a chance at a high-reward QB pick for rolling the dice on a third rounder, especially when you're *this close* to the top of the draft?)

7. Rams (They're set)
8. Panthers (Need a QB)
9. Raiders (Need a QB)

10. Eagles (They're set)

All those bolded teams are potential trade partners on draft night, and they'll all be bidding against each other potentially, especially if the Bears get the #1 pick.

Example of past Bear 1st round picks. I think coaching is the key to draft choice development. Bad coaching makes a high draft choice irrelevant.

They took David Terrell but never gave thought to the QB who had been throwing him the football.

Like who was the scout watching him ...

I mean, we could just as easily make a list of great players coached by mediocre coaches.

I hear what you're saying, but draft position matters.

Look how the Bears were one off from Aaron Donald. He would've been a beast in Chicago even with crappy coaches. Look how close the Jets were to getting Trevor Lawrence, but instead one play gave them a Week 17 win and dropped them to #2, where they got Zach Wilson. I bet Jets fans think draft position matters.

Trust me.....I get it
, ya wanna ideally get a high draft who'll ideally will play at a high level, who will ideally contribute long-term. I'm just showing the flip side. Look at Roquan Smith he's gone, Trubs gone.

I'm just showing some of our 1st rounders going back to the 90's for reference.

Good point. No Qb
Right ya gotta draft smart. And know what to do with the talent ya bring in. It's almost like having a race car and only driving a few miles here and there.

I mean that must have seen Brady throw the ball that season ... It's not like they were stacked at the time.

What about drafting your moms old Toyota and passing on the race cars? Is that the coaches fault too?

Take a look at PL's observation above

Also....the comments here in link #27

Do you think we got the most outta these draft choices? in link #24

From ownership, to GM, to coaching to scouting I just want us to get good players in here who make a lasting impact like a Sayers, Payton, a McMahon, a Butkus, etc. I just want us making the right moves to win another SB.

You need coaching and to take the right pick. To say it’s all coaching is pretty dumb.

Edit: I mean come on just look at that list. Shea mac lmao he went to New England and they couldn’t find a stable role for him. Look at Kevin white. Guy couldn’t stay healthy. Get a grip.

I don't think Murray is tradeable. Cards are going to have to live with that contract extension for good or bad and so far it's mostly bad.

Did you know you don't need to copy and paste the same thing into each message?

You had a problem with me initially mentioning coaching as a key factor in draft choice development right, so I included the other factors below.
