LOL.
G isn't out of the question but he'll need reps there. I was surprised they were rotating him in at T instead. Thought he might be an option to eventually replace Whitehair but he'd obviously need to improve..
Whitehair was a mess today as well. As much as people want to keep him next year @rawdawg is right, they shouldn't pay him what he is getting

WTF make that deal a year early and right after he's a PB center only to discover he can't shotgun and need to move him in year 4 of his career(and what should have been the last of his rookie deal) to before he earns any of it. I said on the day he was drafted that he was built for center but who knew he couldn't develop a snap. He's got very good hands and is solid in his box so had value there but if he has to play G, he's a guy.

Except you blamed him for a pick when he did and the WR fucked up.
Yes I did.. as did Matt Bowen. So what? There can be more then 1 mistake on a play you know, it's possible for the WR to make a mistake and also Fields to make a mistake. This is a development year for Fields perfect time for him to make mistakes like that and learn from them.

Still going with that, LOL. If he took a 3 yd check down, you'd say he passed on the automatic 1st down to ESB, LOL.

Yes, it was totally quick passing and brilliant offensive line play that made this touchdown. It had nothing to do with him scrambling after being under pressure almost immediately, then putting pressure on the defense to choose correctly on who to defend. That quick passing and top 2 offensive line did it all!
I mean he has had three seasons worth of OL breakdown scramble drill in 14 games. He just needs to take 3 step drops and throw it quickly in the direction of Simba,Nala and Even'Keal the rest of the season to have learnt the rest of QBing.

My argument hasn't changed? The already limited supporting cast was riddled with injuries entering today's game. Fields is coming off a recent shoulder injury. They're eliminated from the playoffs. Nothing they did today could change the fact that this season is over. There were only downsides to him playing today. 1) They fluke into a win and piss away a top 3 draft pick. 2) If Fields, or other guys being counted on for 2023 get severely hurt, you're only making the roster that much more uncertain. 3) Fields has taken a shit ton of hits this season, he doesn't need to take more to show he's a legit QB for 2023. He got banged up middle of the 4th quarter but fortunately was able to shake it off.

Today, he got hit 6 times on sacks. He got hit multiple times on his 15 rushing attempts. A player they're counting on for 2023 - Teven Jenkins was lost to potentially a severe injury. The receivers he was throwing to today (with the exception of Kmet, Pringle and Montgomery) probably won't be in the league next year. And, oh yeah, the Bears still lost. So all that added wear and tear was for nothing.
You forgot all the learnt he got by trying to throw quick passes to not open WR's that will be reading gas meters next season. Taking a blind sided unimpeded full throttle hit from a 235 man running at nearly 20 mph is a small price to pay for that knowledge.

Don't worry. One of the soy boys (@Anytime23 or @HeHateMe ) already tagged a mod in a post so they could check if I was an alternate account (pathetic, I know). Alas, the IP didn't match another user or a proxy.
If you aren't an alt my sage advice would be to wipe this account and start over.

The obvious question is why the **** are you letting your franchise QB take this many hits in a game that means nothing?

I think there is something to be concerned about here. JF at times seems to trust his legs more than his arm, and that is ultimately lead to a shorter career.

Hopefully, he learns to toss the ball out-of-bounds on occasion and live for the next play.

seems like a perfect time to work on his skills with getting rid of the ball quickly .. There is going to be times in the future where the OL is going to suffer injuries so he better learn that skillset. Expecting him to only play when everything is perfect around him is ridiculous.

Just stop with the nobody is open BS.. if thats the case then throw the ball away like every other QB does..
I mean do you actually watch the games? What players are getting open on quick drops?

Montgomery is open a lot for a dump off when the pressure comes..
LTFOL. So your answer to who is getting open that he can learn to throw to is a guy that is their when all the actual receiving targets fail to get open. Do you actually think he needs to learn how to throw a dump off pass. Oh and by the way, he made several to Montgomery yesterday.

The best I can give you is he is learning that his regular receiving targets suck and his OL is a sieve, so he should just bail on his reads earlier, but not sure that is a great habit. I mean you are literally advocating for him to become a check down charlie like Blake Bortles.

Yes he does need to learn that because he keeps taking sacks, taking what the D gives him is something that all good QBs do and something that he needs to work on.

Well on his 5 sacks yesterday(1:50, 2:10,3:35,4:55,7:05)in the attached video, there was no outlet target on the 1st 4 and Fields is looking at Montgomery on the 5th as DM never looks back, leaving Fields hanging.
The outlets, Justin just hit any of those outlets.
So do you have any actual evidence of what JF could learn from playing with 5 traffic cones and ahuna muttata etal.

He trusts his legs more than his OL that would make him take worse hits if he stayed home. He's not leaving the pocket too soon like earlier in the year, nor taking as big of hits.

He's out there competing and wants to win, but running it 15 times a game is not sustainable. Getsy has to find a way to counter this and give Fields some options. Last thing the Bears need is a Fields injury to end the season.

He believes that if your name is Fields, you should never take a sack if you have a guy in the flat. Eye implants in back of head notwithstanding.
