I mean the dude had 65 Tds and 19 Ints the last 2 years. I don't think anyone realistically thought he would fall of the cliff like he did. I still wonder if this is more on Hackett. This feels like Brady's last year with the Pats where people thought he was done and then he found the right Offense for him and after some early struggles he put it together last half of the season.
That's what makes it a trainwreck.

I think obviously some falls on Hackett but Russ is also a guy who works outside the system a bunch, and he has just completely sucked at that this year.

Agreed. Think Hackett and Getsy had the same problem Wilson and Fields both are better on the move and off script. Getsy adjusted his O to account for that but Hackett has not for Wilson as much although Wilson has looked poor off script as well.

Still 4 other 3 win teams and they all have the SOS tie breaker. Long ways to go to get second pick. Jags and Browns winning was big.
You are underestimating how bad our D is...

The Bears needed a bad season like this for draft purposes.

I expect a haul on a trade down.

Not sure what you’re getting at.

Think we all know how bad it is.

bears can easily slide to 5 or later with the rams and broncos having tough schedules coupled with the bears SOS being higher than rams or broncos...if the bears are able to stay at 2 i expect a massive haul to trade back with detroit or seattle as they both need qb's...if the bears slide down a few spots i think poles will take the bpa instead of trading down.

I think we can overcome all the wins we amassed.

I believe we are on lock for #2

I mean I believe they can lose out too. (although it is the NFL and any given Sunday and all)

You still need help from the Rams and Broncos to get the 2nd pick. There's just no way around that.

They play each other, so the Bears really need help from the one that loses that game. I'll be rooting for Denver because LA has an easier schedule.

They hired Hackett hoping to lure Rodgers when he had never really shown he could be a HC. It looked like a huge gamble then but looks even worse now. Hackett is as good as gone and the only question is will he last until black Monday.

I mean it depends on how good these QBs are? Just because they are the only two 1st rounder doesn’t mean teams will give up a ton for them.

Sometimes it’s a bad year for QBs.
Ok but let's then look at the 2012 trade for RG111 who had a major injury red flag and the 2016 trade for Carson Wentz a small college QB. They both went #2 in their drafts.

Washington moved up from 6th and gave up 1st round picks in 2012, 2013, and 2014 plus a 2012 2nd round pick.

Eagles moved up from the 8th pick and gave up 1st round picks in 2016, 2017, 2018, plus a 2nd round pick.

This seems to be the haul you could expect to see if the Bears remain with the #2 overall pick.

Yep, the price is the price. The price itself for a #2 is a haul even if it's a small move.
The desired player and how much the team wants them only adds to the haul. I'm seeing it said there are 3 QB needy teams and there's often a surprise team, competition adds to the price. If we stick at #2 it's a good spot to be.

2nd pick in the draft could net you 3 first round picks one for next season two this season. But with Seattle having geno Smith and lions trying to build around goff(he has gone to the superbowl) or do they give away a lot to get their future QB....
I think a few teams will sit tight and wait for Caleb Williams next year unless the GM/HC think they will get fired before then.
