Bears Looking to Draft a RB

Never really thought about it, but trading Michael Bush is a possibility. Get a draft pick and buy a cheap guy like CM who, to me, has really good tape. Great burst of sped and acceleration

btw what does unsubstantiated mean? also where did you get this list? I would love to be updated on all of the guys the Bears have interviewed and shown extra interest in.

I understand that drafting for need leads to reaches in many occasions; but, like I said, RB is one of the few spots you can grab a guy and plug him in right off the bat and not have to worry too much about the learning curve (as opposed to many positions that guys outside the first round will likely have to be groomed for a time). If they really thought Bush wouldn't fit in the system they could have cut him this off-season and had his contract completely off the books by 2014. There really isn't a market for trading 28+ year old backs so there's pretty much no hope of unloading him via trade. That's why I just don't see drafting a RB this year as a smart move when we could just as easily do it further down the line and address much more glaring holes at spots (and picks) that will require more time to develop.

Again, I'm not saying that it won't happen...but it just seems like a move that wouldn't make much sense considering the above points when combined with how the FO has approached this off-season (if a RB was a priority you cut Bush to save some space for FA and get his cap hit off the books sooner rather than later and then draft _____ as a backup/future starter).

No one is going to pay us anything for our bush. Our bush can take some punishment but I doubt teams are willing to part with a draft pick.

I could understand using a 4th or lower but since they don't have a 3rd I think that they have to draft other positions in 1 and 2. I think the best player available thinking is good but I don't think it should be a hard-fast rule when they need depth at LB and OL. Bush will be gone next year and Forte should be wonderful in the new system. If not, like mentioned before, he'll get "disrespected".

Pay no heed to Camden. The vast majority of Bears fans like Forte and understand that he's one of our best players. The only people who hate on him are the butthurt Cutler fanboys like Camden, Rodney and Dabears253313.

It's very transparent too; they didn't bag on him until it became too frustrating to witness Cutler failing to live up to expectations and they needed to find a diversion.

Normal Bears fans realize Forte is good and isn't going anywhere.
