too much woke bullshit going on
we use sports to get away from politics
woke folk wont let you have nothing without making sure you hear about our first world problems
hate people like that

Bears are a shitshow and ive had enough
This really is one of the most idiotic statements that could ever be muttered. No, you don't use sports to get away from politics. You just don't want the politics that you don't agree with to be in sports.

what’s people’s problem with the 3 ball? the game changes over time, just like football is not centered on fullbacks and line backers anymore.

Meh, it got boring. That and the flopping/super team crap. There's basically no competition.

15 years ago the main criticism of the NBA was lack of fundamentals and everything was dunks and layups. Now that fundamentals and shooting forms are being heavily taught, people want to go back the other way.

I think people invent reasons why they don't like the NBA.

I can't speak for him but I can tell you that I don't want politics in sports, PERIOD.

THAT INCLUDES THE POLITICS I AGREE WITH.

sports used to be a place where fans of a team regardless of their political background could get together and unify behind cheering for their team.

The politicalization of sports is making that increasingly harder.

Escapism is escapism for a reason. the whole point is to escape the real world's social ills for a while and it is mentally healthy to do so.

The political creep in all forms of entertainment and media is actually detrimental to the overall human condition. It's fine to be concerned about the world's issues, but everybody needs a break from it from time to time.

Otherwise all it does is fix nothing and serve to keep people at each other's throats.

That isn't my preferred way to spend a Sunday.

Honestly I think in part, the way LeBron changed the NBA to a more mercenary style of League where players can group up and go to random teams to try to win championships has actually hurt the game even though it's been a major benefit to the players.

The reason I say that is because as a fan, you never really want to get too attached to your team because you never know when your big Superstar might decide to flex his muscles and force a trade or leave your team for greener pastures.

I think that more than anything has had the biggest effect on the NBA and interest.

My overall point is that politics has always has been part of sports. Football might not have survived with President Teddy Roosevelt. Jesse Owens embarrassing Hitler in 1936. Jackie Robinson. Muhammad Ali. The Munich Olympics. Kaepernick.

Politics have always had a place in sports, and they always will have a place in sports.

I can understand people's frustrations with the superteams. I disagree, but I get it.

The one thing I'd say though is that I think the superteam concept is unfairly attributed to Lebron, when just a few years prior to the Big 3 in Miami you had Garnett, Pierce, and Allen in Boston, and we certainly can't forget Karl Malone and Gary Payton joining the Shaq and Kobe Lakers.

It is always amazing how quickly people love to talk about how much they hate the NBA and don't watch it.

Meanwhile, everyone loves the Festival of Missed Shots every March.

Never watched that either. Did a bracket this year for the first time ever just for fun. Can't name one player or coach on any team. All I know is they keep showing pictures of some prematurely old looking dude who plays on Loyola.

It's boring as ****. People used to drive for the basket. You used to get punished for it. The sport was physical as all hell. Now it's just a shot competition.

Yes, the NFL has changed but it's still fun. I miss the old big hits and solid defense but the new era is still pretty damn fun to watch IMO. Basketball is like watching paint dry. It saddens me. Grew up loving the sport.

Or maybe our opinions are real and valid?

15 years ago were you complaining about lack of fundamentals?

Don't recall ever once complaining about a lack of fundamentals in any sport to be honest. I'm either entertained or I'm not. The current NBA doesn't entertain me.

i can agree it’s boring but i don’t think the 3 point shot is the reason. in my opinion it’s there’s no competition at all. everybody knows who’s going to come out of either conference and it’s really who has the best 3-4 players on their team. might as well make the NBA 3 on 3.

Good. Public humiliation has always been one of the few things that I felt motivated the McCaskeys.
They have too much money to care about what any of us think.

Some will think it's a joke, but it's real. the McCaskeys are 'Bears fans' the same way Bill Gates is a 'Micorsoft fan'. They like their investment and how it's making them money, but they barely care about what the company does on a smaller level.

I don't think they care about what WE think..... I do think they care about national media perception. They care about the Bears legacy and the Bears being a national joke hurts a bit.
