first off, the Wildcard rules are as follows:

Two Clubs

Head-to-head, if applicable.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss.

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Coin toss

And the current playoff picture:

Division Leaders:
South: Falcons (11-2)
West: 49ers (9-3-1)
North: Packers (9-4)
East: Giants (8-5)

Wildcard:
Seahawks (8-5)
Bears (8-5)

In the Hunt:
Redskins (7-6)
Cowboys (7-6)
Vikings (7-6)
Rams (6-6-1)

Okay, so we know the Cowboys and Rams have to finish w/ a better record than us, b/c we've beat them head-to-head. So if we tie w/ them, we advance.

Seahawks beat us, so we're only getting in front of them w/ a better record, which doesn't seem likely.

So that leaves the Redskins and Vikings for us to overcome.

The next tie-breaker is record against conference.

Vs. NFC:
Bears: 5-4
Redskins: 6-4
Vikings: 5-5

So, the game against Arizona matters. It's a must-win. And the game against Detroit is looking like a must-win, also. We have to have 9 wins, and we very well might need 10.

Bear down.

Before the Minn game it was about 80% chance the Bears got in.

Now im sure its about 73%. Ill have to check, but its still pretty likely.

GB would clinch the division if they won at Soldier Field next week. I'm so tired of these asshole beating us to clinch/make the playoffs/go to the Super Bowl. The Bears need to kick their ass.

Thanks for this, good to know the specifics. Just beat GB at home and give us something positive to talk about again.

Thanks now I can crawl into bed.

This Bears squad is in a downward spiral.
