The bears mgmt is si dumb they'd rather trade a boatload of picks for a guy who hasn't won a playoff game since Obama was president vs the same guy (only a better record and offensive hc) the Cowboys just let walk.

Neither should be in consideration but bears gonna bears

Trivia time:

Name the last HC to win a super bowl with two different org?
There isn’t one. But somehow this will be the organization that changes that fact, lol.

I had not remembered that Tomlin had fired Arians.

It was Tomlin that made Arians OC as he was just a WR coach under Cowher. He also was not fired. His contract expired and Arians said he felt the front office forced Tomlin to let his contract expire.

The timeline at the end certainly seems to suggest getting rid of Arian's was Rooney's idea as Tomlin initially said Arian's would return and it was Rooney that first claimed Arian's was retiring.

In an interview with Andrea Kremer for HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, Arians said he felt betrayed by the Steelers after the team did not renew his contract. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said in March 2012 that he ultimately made the decision to replace Arians with Todd Haley, but Kremer said Arians believes the Steelers forced Tomlin's hand.

"(Tomlin) said, 'I can't get you the money,'" Arians told Kremer. "I said, 'OK.' He said, 'No, I can't get you a contract.' I said, 'Are you firing me?' He said, 'No.' Well, it's just a matter of words, Mike, OK. If I don't have a contract, I'm fired.'"
  • On Jan. 9, a day after the Steelers' playoff loss at Denver, Tomlin said he anticipated both of his coordinators would return, although he added, "we all understand what the end of the season is about and movement is a part of it in today's NFL for both players and coaches."
  • On Jan. 17, Rooney indicated that some members of the coaching staff were considering retirement.
  • On Jan. 20, Tomlin announced in a statement that "Bruce Arians has informed me that he will retire from coaching.
  • On Jan. 23, Arians told the York Daily Record that Rooney informed him that his contract wasn't being renewed.
  • On Jan. 28, eight days after his "retirement announcement" by the Steelers, Arians joined the Indianapolis Colts as their offensive coordinator.

Bears fans are hilarious.

(Guys get their teams to the playoffs nearly every year no matter who’s at QB or how well they play)

“Meh, not good enough in the playoffs. PASSSS!!”

(Guy is literally the winningest coach in history)

“WASHEEDDDDD!!!”

(Guy once got sneezed on by Kyle Shanahan.)

As if the Bears can afford to trade away hgh draft choices for an aging coach. One word describes Bears management: clueless

Steelers are in a pickle.

At some point, Tomlin has to go, but they keep waiting for him to lose. He just finds ways to keep winning and until he has a losing season he seems that he can't be fired.

I had no idea about Pittsburgh poor offense since Arians left. I thought they still had some good years with Ben, but I do know that it has been terrible since Ben retired.

Steelers boards are all annoyed and disappointed that they aren’t trading him. I have yet to see any Steelers fans on any Steelers board that wants to keep Tomlin.
Because they're stupid. Tomlin being in comp for that division with Russel Wilson, who sucked so bad that the Broncos took a massive cap hit to unload him, is better than pretty much anything they could have expected. The dude has had winning season with Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and over the hill Wilson. After seeing what headcases guys like Brown and Johnson ended up being, it shows the type of leader Tomlin is and the respect he earns in the locker room. Much like Vrabel, Tomlin is a guy that can change the culture and Steelers fans are fucking spoiled. Tomlin is legit what Bears fans think Lovie was.

The world of fantasy football and any time TD betting doesn't set a high priority to defense, creating turnovers and running the ball. The Pittsburgh Steelers do. So Pittsburgh continues to have winning seasons.
