We've improved a lot this year. We'll be light years away from the playoffs but I don't see us finishing worse than the Bucs,Saints, and Redskins who need a QB.

Oh yeah. Oh yeah, they'll finish worse than those teams, because they're worse than those teams. Also, the schedule seems to show more wins for those teams, but who the hell knows on that stuff.

In any case, the Saints and Bucs won't be in the market for a high first round quarterback. The Skins probably are. If I were a betting man, I'd wager the race for the #1 pick will be between the Bears and Redskins.

The Bears were in Seattle.

Goff played in Seattle.

Pace, Fox and George McCaskey could have gone to the game.

We will absolutely be in the conversation, the Bucs have more talent than the Bears so it is reasonable to assume they will improve is not more.

The Saints have a HOF QB who will eventually play.

The Bears are competing with the Skins and Browns for least talented rosters.

whats your point? do they send 4 scouts to every college game that happens to be in the area?

I think its likely theyre scouting goff pretty heavily.

I agree with you that is a pretty dumb reason. However, I also think they will turn it around because they will have the two most important players back, Cutler and Ratliff. They might not be the two BEST players but they make the most impact on the team.

honest question. considering the Browns are perennial losers, how are they still so terrible after picking so high year in and out?

Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel, Trent Richardson, and Josh Gordon can probably answer that question. Oh and their starting QB is Josh McCown.

They actually don't pick that high every year. High, but not top 5 high.

They have one of the most dysfunctional organizations in sports. Their owner is a meddling idiot, they are constantly hiring new Gms and coaches and I don't think talented people want to work there.

Also they make really bad picks.

It got to the point where I thought they retired it cause of Unitas but then I looked into it and I guess people just don't like 19 lol

I think that's because the excitement from being 18 passes, and you're all like "****. 2 more years until I'm 21"

At one point Kaepernick had 33 yards and 4ints, 2 were back to back pick 6s to start the game.... Let that soak in... 9ers might be getting that no1 pick

@nfldraftscout: On the flip side, Jared Goff is 6th best in CFB with 63.7% of his yards coming in the air.

— When Cal met Washington last weekend, 23 NFL scouts were on hand, according to one of those scouts who texted me from the press box. And for you rumor-crazy Chicago Bears fans, I did also hear from scouts that general manager Ryan Pace brought four scouts with him to the game. Feel free to connect those Jared Goff dots if you'd like.

— Ready for your weekly Jared Goff update? One scout I spoke to this week said, "Don't assume Goff will come out. He loves Cal and could stay four years."

If that's true, do we pull the trigger on Cook or Hackenberg or Cardale or somebody else, or go OT/LB/DE/?
