It’s funny that the bears made soldier field an eye sore, then dips a few years later.

Some of us have been saying this all along. You don’t buy that property to do nothing with it. And this day and age, it’s about building an experience, and you have to have property space (and own it) to do it. Can’t do that on the lakefront.

Just build more land along the lake front. The Chinese do it all the time. They just built a airport that way. Chicago has done it before too.

TBH at one point when the tax issue pissed them off they thought "maybe lets stay in the city".

Then kevin warren learned about the friends of the park.

It was always just a negotiation tactic, but it pisses me off. Cheap as ******* delayed building the stadium for 2 years over money thats essentially peanuts in the long run for them, especially if you build a hotel, casino, etc.

Shovels should have been in the ground this time last year. Instead it probably wont even happen this year

I think it will be interesting to see what 3rd party investors that the Bears pull together to help fund the stadium and then develop the area around the stadium.

Done right, they can truly make one hell of a NFL/Bears campus in a major market. There is just nothing in the Bears history that suggests they will get it right.

I also find it funny that there are probably several billion that will be needed in government funding to improve the infrastructure around such a campus that is just being glossed over right now.
