He's not trash, he's just a bad tackler. That won't really fly in Chicago.
Say what you want about Kyle Fuller, but a bad tackler he was not. Dude has a bit of a mean streak. In any case, Denver wasted no time signing him before he could even blow his nose.

Looks like a downgrade to Skrine at first glance.

My favorite teams
  1. New York Mets
  1. Detroit Pistons
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. North Carolina Tar Heels
Im furious we are losing fuller period. Obviously if it’s going to happen I’d prefer to get something out of it vs just cutting him I mean that is common sense. I’d also like to curb stomp Ryan Pace but I hardly get what I want.

Furious over a team........... :jonesy: :jonesy: :jonesy:

I noticed that OTC still has Tre Roberson on the roster.

Buster Skrine was considered to be fairly bad in NYJ before we signed him. He was solid for us. That must be what they're hoping for from Trufant: being a good scheme fit rather than going off what he did in Detroit, where everyone pretty much sucks.

Skrine was considered bad at outside corner. He was always a decent slot CB, and I'd argue he was decent at best for the Bears.

When I was still playing fantasy football, they would basically always up-rate the receiver going against him in the slot, basically saying Skrine gets burnt all the time.

I doubt the Bears are expecting Trufant to be anything more than decent. What's more likely is that they're banking on Robert Quinn being healthy so the pass rush shows up in a way where the corners don't have to be studly. Also Desai may want more press coverage whereas Fuller was almost exclusively playing off.

It's interesting with Desai, seems his mentor loves Fuller, enough to sign him within 30 minutes of cut. So I'm not sure why we think Desai might want press coverage (not saying he won't but there's no evidence of that).

Bears will be banking on several unlikely things happening this coming year.

Yea I don't know, just throwing out ideas. We know Johnson is a press-coverage type guy and we've invested heavily into the defensive front so maybe Desai really wants to lean into that, play more press/man and be more aggressive; who knows.

That would mean Desai would be developing the scheme to fit his defenses strengths, instead of trying to fit square pegs into round holes.

Is that even possible?

I didn't get to watch many games but whats the report on Vildor? I thought he looked better than Shelly in the games I did get to watch. Is he someone we expect to step up and see more time on the field?

Imo for a 5th round rookie he held up ok. Gave up some plays but was also beaten by some good throws that would’ve beaten the average corner.

I could see him competing with both Trufant and Shelley for starting outside or inside.

Slay seemed to do alright. Maybe after getting cut from Atlanta, then getting cut from Detroit, the dude just plain sucks ass?
