Bears to resign Israel Idonije

-According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears have re-signed defensive end Israel Idonije to a 1 year deal.

Hopefully this doesnt affect us from trying to find a quality starter across the line from pep. i love izzy, but his services make him a valuable backup at this point, and we really need someone over there with some damn speed to take the pressure off the rest of the line

There's nothing wrong with Idonije, definitely not our biggest need for an upgrade. Izzy gets the job done, don't know you think he's only valuable as a backup.

i respect his ability to stop the run and im not saying he isnt capable of playing a substantial amount of snaps. i guess the term "backup" for defensive ends is a loosely defined term because with the dline there is a lot of rotation going on. all im getting at is that the end position opposite peppers doesnt see any double teams, and we need more of a pass rush presence over there because of it
