And Waldron once thought Gerald Everett was the guy 🤦 Glad he came to his senses.

It's just a hunch but I don't even think it's Waldron as much as I think it has to do with Williams truly understanding the value that a big target like Kmet has as an every down receiving threat.

Since sit downs occurred and changes to playcalling/personnel were made Williams has used Kmet significantly more over the past 3 weeks and I do expect that trend will continue.

Up until a few weeks ago, watching this franchises use of Kmet for the past 3 seasons has been similar to watching them fumble away Greg Olsen all over again.

When the Bears had Olsen they couldn't figure out how to get more than 600 yards season out of him. Yet as soon as he ended up with a young upstart Cam Newton and a better coaching staff he instantly turned into that TE that puts up 800 to 1000 yards a season in his prime.

I see a Kmet and LaPorta comparison being made and Kmet is not going to be a viable deep threat with any regularity like LaPorta.

That being said Cole Kmet will thrive in the exact same role that the Chiefs have used with Travis Kelce over the past decade as that match up nightmare receiving TE that eats up those 15 to 30 yard chunks over the middle of the field down after down, which also opens things up for the WRs on the perimeter.

I would love to see Kmet take a page out of David Montgomerys playbook and work with Chris Korfist if he hasnt already. I thought Montgomery looked a step faster and significantly more agile after working with Korfist.

The play at the 1:40 mark to Rome is the perfect example of a QB anticipating where a receiver will be, and not where he is. The ball is coming out of CW's hand when Rome is behind the DB beginning to make his slang cut over the middle. and CW probably doesn't see him, but knows where he is going to be. This play tells me how great CW is going to become, if not already. JF never had this anticipatory insight his whole tenure with da Bears. So glad da Bears drafted this OK Sooner. ...lol...
