So when I look back and see the Wentz trade go through and hear the Bears were never at the table I think of Eagles GM Howie Roseman and my gut reaction is:

clap.gif

This was a goddamn GM masterpiece. He created a a media and fan frenzy for a team that wasn't even in the bidding just in an attempt to create leverage against another team.

On the surface the Stafford trade seems like a lot more, but when you strip out the Goff side it's a 2022 first and a 2021 third. If Wentz plays in 75% of the snaps or plays in 70% and they make the playoffs it's a 2022 first and a 2021 third. That happened after being laughed at for wanting a 'Stafford type deal'.

wut

strip out the goff side

Wow. How did I miss that.

Howie's sales job has got nothing on Pegger. Howie tried and failed to convince the Colts other teams were bidding.

Pegger successfully convinced himself that this failure was a master stroke.

“Did their homework”. Probably means Pace handed Wentz’s Agent a note...

Reason he didnt make offer.

Don’t get me wrong though, Happy they didn’t, but this group of clowns is gonna get us nothing but another year of crap.

I can’t wait until the day comes when we celebrate Pace’s moves and not his non-moves. After 7 years my expectations aren’t particularly high.
Chalk this up as a win for a non-move

I see this around, but REALISTICALLY, who do you want them to get?

Watson and now Carr will not be traded.

It's a bad year to need a qb.

Good news. Glad Pace didn't piss away more draft picks. The next step is not over drafting a QB because the top 4 are off the board. Do not draft Mac Jones.

Wrong again. MAc Jones will be an above average QB

The point is that no we will want to come to this unstable situation. Should have cleaned house. I like continuity, but this just seems like a disaster waiting to happen...how do you think coaches, players and agents see it?

anyways, who? Draft is probably best option for all involved, but will pace go down that way...doubt it.

They got a 2nd and a 3rd that will probably be a 1st and a 3rd. We are also hearing that it was really only the Colts that were in this.

On the flip side the Stafford deal was a 1st and a 3rd with another first rounder to take on the Goff contract. Those negotiations happened with multiple teams, took a few days and was done.

Roseman was burning the midnight oil for many days on this one. I fully agree we don't know where the negotiations started, but we know where they ended. Overall I look at the Stafford and Wentz deals as very comparable.

You are understandably biased here but I disagree. Colts fleeced Roseman. A 3rd round pick this year and taking on the biggest cap hit ever for guy you’re trading away. Yikes. Then, not even guaranteed a 1st rounder in return the following year? Lol. Wentz gets hurt, it’s a 2nd round pick coming back. If Wentz repeats last year, there’s nothing stopping the Colts for saying F this, we are starting Brissett or whoever to cockblock having to send their 1st. If Wentz plays well you gave up a franchise QB hitting his prime for peanuts. Lol. Lots of ways the trade can look bad.

For almost 2 weeks people were putting out that the Bears were going to give up everything for Wentz. It was all untrue. In the end they never offered what the Colts gave... and that wasn’t much. Ended up being a lot of foolish talk about nothing

I kinda think this is BS

I bet pace made a go, wentz was like fuck that, I'm not gon sign an extension, and eagles wound up happy with the colts deal anyway. And this is just spin being leaked. Maybe.

Does this mean Pace is not staring at Carr?
