Rubbish. He was never a cancer with the Bears. He busted his ass with the Bears despite teammates who QUIT and coaches who were horrible. He never has QUIT. Name the team ever that he quit on, please. While you are at it. this term "cancer" gets thrown around a lot when it is pertained to Marshall. I find it DISFUCKINGDISGUSTING. One of my best friends EVER, just died this morning of bone cancer back home in CIncy. My wife and I were hoping like hell that he'd last long enough to visit him during our trip for our nieces wedding in a couple of weeks but he took a bad turn for the worst and died at home this AM. So, do me a favor and don't ever use this stupid ass term again when it pertains to a God damn football player or any undeserving person in general.

Sack up and shut up. "Cancer" is a common sports term. My grandfather and mother both died of cancer. Someone using the term lockerroom cancer isn't in the least way offensive. It's a common term. Sorry about your friend but sack the **** up.

I stated a fact that the Bears were not better in 14 with Marshall than 15 without him you fucking idiot. Not fucking once did I say he wasn't good. What don't you go cry in another thread about how bout you "know" the O-line is gonna suck ********.

My post wasn't directed at you, Slick. It really was just a general comment about people who ignore the greatness of a player on a given losing team. It is a silly argument. That is like blaming Ernie Banks being the fault that the Cubs were the worst team in baseball. My real point is that the fault of the Bear's organization is its management. From the old gal on down. It is they who do not have a clue about bringing smart people in to build a winning franchise. Instead it is run like a family owned and operated thrift store.

And Slickey. The offensive line is going to suck and it is going to suck because the Bears know nothing about how to build one. The fact that losing Grasu puts them in such a terrible spot is actually funny if you weren't a Bear's fan. Lose a 2nd year center who sucked as a rookie, and your back-up is Larsen? Incredible. Why was it again that they got rid of Slauson? Pathetic.

Only if Marshall did it, does it hold weight. Everyone else can apparently do it and they are "ra-ra" team guys. Briggs talked about the locker room and team fights under Trestman, but remember it was only Marshall who was responsible on here. We didn't make the playoffs because of Marshall, team chemistry..Marshall, Trestman failing as a coach...Marshall, Gould missing kicks, Marshall.....Defense and Special teams being horrible...you guessed it Marshall.

I'm glad we got rid of him for peg leg, soft tissue legs and other injury prone receivers....they will carry us too the promise land with our stud QB

Great post:)

I'm trying very hard to rationalize what you're trying to say here, but it's not working. this whole thing "omg every team Marshall ever played for never made the playoffs!!!!" shit needs to stop now. your statement is probably correct; the flaw is that it wasn't Brandon Marshall that made the 2014 defense surrender in excess of 40 points a game however. if your defense is giving up 35-40 points or more a game, even Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady will struggle to overcome those deficits on a consistent basis. they'll probably pull out 2, maybe 3 of those games, but not for an entire season.

maybe nobody really considered this, but Brandon Marshall was drafted by the Denver Broncos on the downstroke of Mike Shanahan's run with the team. they, like the Bears, were pretty strapped for talent on defense. they picked up a few nuggets in Cutler, Marshall, and eventually Royal, but in their must-win 2008 season when Cutler DID put up Pro Bowl numbers (even if he was an alternate, he still made it) they had a defense that was giving up that 35-40 points a game. and that's Jay Cutler with wet paint still, that's not Rodgers or Brady. to say that was Marshall's fault when the defense was horrible is pretty silly. then he went to the Miami Dolphins. what more can be said? he had like Chad Henne throwing balls to him. then he got traded to the Bears, additionally on the downstroke of head coach Lovie Smith's run, where he neglected the offense so much during his 9 seasons with the team that no prominent coordinator wanted to work for him, so he got Mike Tice. despite moron Tice, Marshall had yet another 1000+ yard season though. that team actually went 10-6, while they beat no teams, they still went 10-6, which should've been good for an NFC playoff berth any other time. once again, I guess that's Marshall's fault; they actually had a top 5 defense, but they still couldn't beat good teams. then Trestman happened, and along with him came Mel Tucker's homosexual defense. that team was okay in 2013, blah blah Josh McCown blah blah, but they really didn't beat anyone either did they? and then the defense got even gayer and reached 2008 Broncos levels, but once again, I guess that's Brandon Marshall's fault cause he went on IR about 3 games before the season ended and finished with like 997 yards or whatever making him shy of getting another 1000 yard year.

I don't really know the logistics for why the Bears got rid of him. maybe it was the TV show, him being in NY half the time, maybe he didn't give a ****, maybe he told John Fox to get bent, or Ryan Pace to **** his mother. I don't know. regardless he went to a Jets team that went from being hot for about 3 years to a butt fumble and have been dogshit ever since. they too went 10-6 last year and missed the playoffs on I believe a tiebreaker, so that's definitely Brandon Marshall's fault.

do you people comprehend how fucking stupid you sound with this "omg Marshall's teams never went to the playoffs!!!111" bullshit?

ANother great post!

THE thing is that it never really registered with me before my friend died of it but Cancer is about as vile a disease as it gets and claims so many wonderful people. I wonder what idiot decided to use this vile disease as a descriptor of a person. Had to be an idiot sports writer deciding that the term trouble-maker wasn't outlandish enough. Maybe it was MORONatti when he was writing his tripe back when.

I would be willing to bet that almost everyone here or even everyone here has a close friend or relative taken by cancer. In my case, I lost my mother to cancer. It is a horrible thing one of the worst ways to lose someone. Maybe only suicide is worse. I sympathize for your situation and your friend. I am sorry. But locker room "cancer" has been around for a long, long time. It won't go away, either. And, in time, the pain of losing your friend will get better. Though, sadly, it never really goes away.

Special person is a different type of word. It was used to describe or diagnose mental disorders decades ago. Mental health professionals decided long ago that the world was derogatory and inaccurate and its use needed to stop. It wasn't the PC police that wanted the word's use to end; though they may have now taken ownership. Mental health professionals wanted to take the stigma away from those with mental or psychological issues.

First of all, no need for the insults.

That being said, I would feel much better about our offense this year if we still had Marshall, Forte, Bennett, and Slauson on the roster, wouldn't you?

Health care professionals absolutely still use that word in their abstracts. Maybe I missed your point that it is not really spoken of publicly or commercially anymore?

Yeah, I wasn't very specific. And I should have put more thought into it. Yes, it is used in abstracts and the WHO still uses it. Your point is well taken. I guess I should say unless you are a health care professional in that specialty.

Pretty sure he holds the all-time NFL receptions in a game record too.
