Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden will provide color commentary for the Monday Night Football matchup between the San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears on ESPN. This week, he hopped on ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike" and previewed the matchup.

Gruden spoke about quarterback Jay Cutler's impact, in specific, when talking about the Bears on the show. Without Cutler, Gruden believes the Bears wouldn't have any wins this season.

Jon Gruden says the #Bears wouldn't have any wins without Jay Cutler http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14049541

Gruden cited Cutler's solid performances in a win over the Kansas City Chiefs and an overtime loss to the Detroit Lions as evidence that he can lead the Bears to victory. He omitted a fine outing in Week 4, when Cutler guided the Bears to a 22-20 win over the Oakland Raiders in his first game back from a hamstring injury.

Cutler is completing just over 60 percent of his passes this season, and he has thrown twice as many touchdowns as interceptions. He's not blowing away the competition, but he's also not the reason the Bears are losing games.

As Gruden also mentions in his radio segment, the team would probably like to see Cutler work with rookie wideout Kevin White. The seventh-overall pick in this year's draft has been sidelined all season with a fractured shin.

I saw this a couple of days ago and decided not to post it then. After seeing today's threads. I thought it would be appropriate to post it now and most likely be amused by the responses it will get before being sent to the Jay Cutler sub forum of death.

Enjoy the read & video clip.

**** the haters.

Agreed.

We know they are hoping for a bad game from Cutler Monday night. Cutler has gone 51 passes without an INT & has been pretty damn good on Monday nights. He has also been pretty good this year IMO. When he does have his next bad game. Which is something all QB's will have but it will mean much more when its Cutler bad week.

Coming into this Monday's game Cutler stats on Monday night stand at.

14 games
60.91 Cmp%
3076 Passing yards
24 TD
10 INT
92.8 rating

So while I'm hoping Cutler has a good game against the Chargers. As well as I hope the rest of the team plays good too. I also know he is due to throw an INT soon. Let's be honest ,going by history, 51 pass attempts without an INT is no small feat for Cutler.

For those of us who don't hate on the guy like its out job, hopefully we can see him play well this Monday night and have it translate into a W for the Bears.

The next few games, after the S.D. away game, are already looking like games that are unlikely to be wins and very likely to be miserable games to watch.

So here's to prolonging the hate train getting fully back on track, at least one more week.

Your dog might be able to have 2 fucking wins with the Bears but he would also have 7 wins just as easily with the Broncos right now. So what's your point?

3076 yards

I couldn't agree more. I love our QB.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Southern California Trojans
Considering that Clausen is our backup, I would agree, the Bears probably would not have 2 wins.

I agree we wouldn't have any wins without Cutler this year. Truthfully we would have a winning record right now had we been able to hold leads late in the game, especially these past two games. But we all knew this year was gonna be a rough year, but at least we can see some positives. Cutlers play is a big positive, imo. The defense is showing flashes of what they can be in the future, too bad the flashes are not more consistant. McPhee was a great signing, I love his attitude and what he brings each week, with us going with a lot of young kids this year, and probably next, if not the one after that, his leadership will be huge. I like what we're seeing from Fangio and Gase, as well. Too bad we'll likely lose Gase after this year, possibly Fangio as well. I wish instead of hiring Fox as the head coach we would've just signed Gase to be the head coach and had him locked in here for a few seasons at least.

Shit I have no doubt that if Claussen was our starter the whole year, we'd have went winless. What a horror show that would've been.

both units are bottom ranked in the league. I don't know who started these rumors that Gase and Fangio would just up and leave after a year. I still maintain that if it was going to happen for either of them, it would have already. I'll also point out again that they're both ranked in the bottom 1/4 of the league, at least. if they were like top 5 in the league I would buy this theory. until then stop with the chicken little shit, at the end of the day we have zero control over it anyway.

also good job Gruden on the flip flop already.
