I got a new mattress a year or so ago. I hate pillow top mattresses, and it was surprisingly difficult to find one without a pillow top.

Pillow top and memory foam beds have a totally different feel. If you want a memory foam (non pillow top) look at something like this from Beautyrest

I got a new mattress a year or so ago. I hate pillow top mattresses, and it was surprisingly difficult to find one without a pillow top.

I hate pillow tops, too....a big part of why I wanted this...it has a thin pillow top, but I figured the adjustability would make up for it. I love it. The analytics of your sleep is very interesting to view over time. Not to humblebrag like others, but we got this around this time a couple years ago, and literally got 50% off on Black Friday weekend so an $8K bed was $4. Never would have paid full price for it.

I got the Sleep Number i8 a couple years ago...love it.... interesting how much info it analyzes about your sleep.

My sleep number is zero, as in there is a zero percent chance I ever buy one.

Serta Memory foam for me. The one with the cooling gel in it. Going on a couple of years and I still love it. Could put an adjustable base under it if we wanted, but I think if we did that we would have to get the side by side mattresses with separate controllers because there is no way my wife and I would agree on what angle to set the bed at for optimum sleep.

It's probably close to 15 years old, but it's sunk in a bit where me and my wife usually sleep. We are hoping to move soon though so I'll probably hold off on a new one for now.
