Where will Gordon go and be the primary option like he's here - nowhere I suspect - he will be back.

Really, you really want him to kill the Bulls when he plays us? I will have no animosity towards Ben if he leaves. I hope he stays with us, but as soon as he's gone, whether he's good or bad will be entirely irrelevant to me.

For Shame Doug Thonus!!! For Shame!!! I still follow and root for the likes of Sefalosha and Nocioni!! Eventhough, they aren't Bulls anymore I still keep up with them because I like them!! Same for Gordon as he goes, I will still root for him wherever he is, even if he is playing the Bulls!!! BEN GORDON!!!! DONT LEAVE US!!!

Hope that wasn't his final game - if he has to leave, I'd like it to be in a blaze of glory. Not sitting on the bench having fouled out, and particularly not in a game he didn't play very well in.

I'm not usually sentimental about the players ... you do what you got to do to improve the team, and if that means you trade someone, you trade someone, whether thans MJ or some end of bench scrub.

But leaving the whole Ben vs Kirk, JR is cheap, whatever debate aside, it seems likely BG is gone, and if not, then Kirk is. Either way it's a guy who has been on the team for 5+ years, who we've urged on, who maybe has had limitations and hasn't always lived up to our expectations, but you can say has worked their ass off to be the best they can and always left it all out there. And although at times they have both had valid reasons to complain about their role, but both of them have done the team thing.

Lets not forget it's only two years ago not only bulls fans but people around the league thought these two could form the starting backcourt of the Eastern conference champions. The tensions between a (mostly imaginary I think) Ben camp and Kirk camp have been high lately, but that loses sight of the fact they're both good NBA players in their own right whose biggest flaw is probably being on a team which has been spoilt by 6 championships.

I think the two of them have been the cornerstones of the most interesting team I can think of. Sure, not as successful as some, but full of drama, from the baby bulls to the Eddy Curry heart condition, the Knicks pick tracking, the Ben Wallace experiment and sweeping the champs euphoria to the total collapse and improbable winning of Derrick Rose, Gordon and Hinrich have lead a team that I think has been more fun to follow than any other in any sport over the last half decade. It's certainly never been boring.

So if Gordon goes like we expect (or Hinrich goes as seems the only way to keep him) I'll be disappointed because it's been a hell of a ride. Maybe they didn't win the championship, but if sport is entertainment can you really say they've failed to deliver?

Why would that be his final game?

I can't see him missing out on game 7.

I think he means his last game in the United Center, Doug. Game 7 will be in Boston. As long as the Bulls win that one we're guaranteed to see Ben on the UC floor in a Bulls uniform again. If we lose, it's up in the air whether he comes back as a friend or foe.

Well she said "final game", you're probably right about referring to at the UC since that's what the thread is about. I hope he goes out in a blaze of glory as the Bulls win the title in game 6 at home in his final game at the UC.

Of course, if we win the title, I think Gordon will be back.

I think Gordon mahy be back regardless, it is just so obvious how valuable he is to Pax and Reinsdorf must be having the "It would just be one year in the tax" conversation right about now.

I don't know that Gordon has performed at a "must sign" level. He's really only had one great playoff game, and we lost that one.

I am with Doug in thinking that it is not very likely that Gordon is back. The whole time we have known that to even have a chance to bring him back we were going to have to clear cap space(I don't see us going above luxury tax). With the way Kirk is playing I don't see them just moving him for unguaranteed deals. They are going to think he is more valuable than that. Deng with his injury makes it highly unlikely we could move him even if we wanted to and Salmons on a reasonable deal with the way he has played puts JR in a situation where he will think we are covered with Rose, Salmons, Hinrich and Deng on the perimeter. His offseason focus will be to upgrade the frontcourt to go with those 4 on the perimeter. So they let Gordon walk and try to move Tyrus, picks, expirings for an upgrade at PF/C to go with Noah and Miller.

Yeah, I meant at the UC - guess I thought the thread title was clarification enough or something. ;)

My apologies for my posting imprecision....
