What I gain the most out Allen's comments is that is was ultimately a good thing the Bear's decided to move off of Eberflus midseason. It planted a seed in both Johnson's and Allen's mind that that would prefer to come here. They had time to do research and felt aligned that a move here would be best for them both.

Honestly at this point, it's almost a safe bet Johnson might of only wanted to coach the Bears. The fact he decided to take no job when he could have been a coach last year shows that he wanted to be here... At least, this is what I believe in my fan fic...
