My buddy's dad owned Sammy's and Lemmy's. We hung out at this store on Division just across the El from Cabrini Green. Yes, I was mugged walking through there for a bag of french fries that's how good the food is.

I mainly just make my hot dogs at home. If I get a hot dog out, it's a jumbo chili dog at Portillo's. Also, Janson's on 99th Street was an excellent hot dog place.

Hated Hot Dogs... Ball Park, Oscars, Blah lol. Bologna rolled up lol. However, as a kid, I did love them steamed cooked. The ice cream shop, Yummy Yummys which was located right next to my grammas on Cermack,sp?, cooked them like that. Now let me buy some good Sausage, like Johnsonville, or real Polish sausage, Damn u Kentucky!!, I'm a happy bastard at that point lol. For a hotdog itself, I only like ones that imitate a real fresh hotdog, with a tougher skin, like Purnells.
