I agree with White Fence Farm on the list as well as a couple of Bretts picks...Dukes, and El Farol

My pick is Aurelio's pizza Homewood Il

I don't know why, but I really really hate their pizza. Beyond the cardboard I've gotten at school lunches or dominos...probably the worst pizza I've ever had.

We have a Rosatti's here that is outstanding. But every other Rosatti's sucks
I hear you. I had that experience with Pizza Hut. Was good near where my parents lived growing up ( and now its been closed for 2 years) but the rest of them I've gone to never lived up to par. So I guess it depends. Ive had Aurelio's from two different locations, hated it every time. That's actually common amongst my friends. They either love it a lot, or hate it like myself.

It's not a restaurant, just a fast food chain but Beef A Roo in Rockford. It's the only fast food I ever eat when I'm back that way.

Also there's an Italian place called Cimino's way out in farm Country. The original is in Pecatonica and there is another in Durand. There may be others, those were the only two I knew of last time I was home

The Patio in Orland Park. Had the ribs there last night.

Hackney's in Palos Park.

Aurelio's Pizza in Mokena (I agree Aurelio's is polarizing)

Barraco's in Evergreen Park

Chi Tung in Evergreen Park

As someone who lives 5 minutes from both the one on East Lake and Harms, Hackneys is disgusting. Both locations have gone way downhill. Food is soggy and the service is meh.
Pequods in Morton Grove is the shit.

That's a shame, it's been a few years since my last visit...

TY for heads up...and Pequods rings a bell...think CLTV did one of those best of featuring them.

I like all the Patios I've been too. But if you are thinking that the ribs are tender, etc, they are not. They are not smoked ribs, they are the one hour jobbers. And they have plenty of tooth pull to them which is fine, but not for everyone. They have great steak sandwiches there too

Ribs should not be "fall off the bone". That means they've been boiled.

Also excellent there: the Italian sausages and the pulled pork.

Uncle Julios on Butterfield RD in Lombard I think. Great tex mex food. Get the chicken fajitas, you won't regret it.
